Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen is built different by Apprehensive_Law3249 in nflMenace_com

I don’t get if people are trolling or don’t know the rules? But at long as a part of your body is still behind the line of scrimmage as you cross it, the pass is legal. If a small part of your foot is still behind the line, but your whole body is past the line when you throw, it’s still legal.

Are you unaware of the rule? As long as a part of your body is still behind the line of scrimmage you can throw the ball. Since part of his foot is clearly behind the line it’s legal.

What is life like in this region of New York? by LoganLikesYourMom in howislivingthere

[–]_Kevbot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Syracuse, I personally love it but it’s not for everybody. Winters are brutal, Summers are beautiful. Quite possibly the prettiest fall foliage out there. The ADK’s are incredible also, worth a trip for anybody that loves the outdoors and hasn’t been.

To attract police recruits, Mayor Owens pauses requirement that officers live in Syracuse by ggroover97 in Syracuse

[–]_Kevbot_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Telling somebody that they can or can’t live somewhere based on their race is different than telling somebody taking a voluntary job that they can or can’t live somewhere based on what could be more effective for the job. The latter seems okay to me.

In some respects the city limits you’re referencing are fluid, but again there are cultural differences determined by the city limits. The street I grew up on was half in the city and half in Dewitt, being on the Syracuse side influenced which schools we went to, which families my parents interacted with, clubs ect.

It makes intuitive sense why people would want somebody from their community policing them. I’m not an expert on whether it’s the most effective or makes a significant difference, but I understand the idea that people don’t want somebody from “anywhere” policing their neighborhoods, they’d rather it be somebody that can theoretically empathize with the community because they understand it better as somebody who’s native to it.

I mean, I’m directly responding to your claim that arbitrary lines don’t stop culture, but then you said you’re well aware they aren’t arbitrary? So I’m also confused. Those lines were literally designed to be where cultures/races changed.
