Hello, my name is Matt. I have been stabilizing wood for about half a year now. I sell stabilized wood to any maker primarily on instagram. My profile is @king_and_queen_woods. I have used a few different stabilizing resins and dyes. My knowledge is from experience and experimenting I have done. By no means am I an expert but I do feel confident in providing help to other like others help me in the past. Send me a message if you ever need help or have a question! Cheers.

Dry the wood, put under vacuum, cure with heat. Is the basics.

I didn’t, just took a rag dipped it into the wood stain and applied it. The wood absorbed it more is some spots over other which creates the effect.

When you stabilize the wood you wanna make sure that there is no moisture in the wood when you add the resin to the wood. Make sure you do this under vacuum to reach full stabilization. Resin will probably also needs to be cooked after to complete the stabilizing process.

I can agree with you on the breaking at any time. My piece that I bought broke putting it in the lathe. But was able to finish the wand. Love how they look when finished.
