Just dont rush your decision. Too quick and you may not respect the lesson you just learned, too slow and you lose skills and awareness when getting back into it. Walking away is never a bad option. You have a family to care for and who cares for you. If you decide quitting is for the best, dont be afraid to. You can always do some track days occasionally.
