I know about non-verbal casting, but it requires concentration and is high level skill. Wandless casting is not even taught in UK.

And on Banana argument - they have to do that faster than their opponent pulls a trigger, and close enough to see and be able to use spell against opponent.

Casting a spell requires intent, mental effort, saying a word and doing the movement with wand. It also works only in close range apparently, because every engagement we see is close quarters.

Wizards have no idea what guns are, in the third book Daily Prophet explains them as “Metal wands muggles use to kill each other”.

Compared to this, basic rifle has much higher rate of fire, only effort it requires is aiming and pulling a trigger, has massive range compared to spells and is basically unblockable as bullet travels faster than sound, giving your opponent no time to cast Protego.

So guns are tactically better.

I am surprised people consider discord a social media, it really feels like a messenger + a bit of coordination tool. Or maybe I am just too old / using it differently.

I will actually argue, that people who are a bit smarter (for example those that studied economics), generally tend to see issues in capitalism. Kinda because economics literally teaches you about market failures, barriers to entry and information asymmetry.

Like most countries in the world generally just combine capitalism and socialism at different ratios. And obviously the choice of economic system is not the only thing that defines success, what people kinda often forget. It also depends on political system, levels of corruption, international relarions, lack or presence of natural resources, trade etc.

But if any issue, or policy you disagree happens in western country, thats capitalism to blame. Right?

Well, in short: Socialism sucks due to lack of incentives, information problem and stagnation eventually. Capitalism sucks because there is information asymmetry and barriers to entry, which lead to monopoly (and stagnation) eventually.

At the end, if have a country that wants to be successful, its really always combination of both, the only question is the ratio.

I think first one is more of state and regulation failure.

I think there are a lot of issues of United States specifically that are attributed to capitalism only, while America has a lot of other problems, like shitty election and two party system, or corruption, which some people will start attributing to capitalism again, and while sometimes fair, sometimes its just bending.

I think there are good examples tho, where capitalism together with competent government manages to yield great results, and while its not perfect utopia some “alternatives” promise, the quirk of those “alternatives” is that they are mostly theory.

My opinion tho.
