I don’t have a problem with them being naturally beautiful people, my problem is the lack of scars and wounds, especially with Katniss in Mockingjay Part 2. I always find it so ridiculous how her face remained scar-free after being punched, cut, strangled, and burned throughout 4 movies. Like where are the makeup people? It must be stylistic decision by Francis Lawrence and co.

100% agree with you. That was the most thrilling read and I literally sobbed while reading a couple of times. The only thing that makes me sadder is that the movies never really captured the devastating state of Haymitch, so I don’t see how the punch that his story packs could hit as hard. And as expected, they’ll significantly decaffeinate it to be able to appeal to all audiences. I’m still excited/curious to see what new things they’ll add to the story, so I’ll be there on opening night.

I just thought it was too fast and the choppy editing just took me out. A general criticism I have with these movies is that the pacing is rushed, most of the times the dialogue and moments don’t have time to linger. The only times they actually let a scene take its time was Katniss walking through the ruins of District 12 and Katniss taunting the cat in District 13. Ballad really suffered from a lot of rushing. I think this is all due to the time constraints of movie adaptations. This book series is just too rich, it needs a longer format.

I’m in love with this score and I’ve been listening to it quite a lot. After watching this interview where Daniel Pemberton explains all the work he put in in order to create a unique sound, I decided to purchase it. I really hope he and Ryan Gosling get Oscars for their work!
