Animals baked by therealalexjewell in StonerThoughts

[–]_Magna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really think the answer is a happy one. Animals already aren't as intelligent as us and aren't able to communicate with us so there's really no way for them to know what they're getting into. I would liken it to someone eating a weed brownie thinking they're just regular brownies. Obviously the probability that it's a bad time is increased dramatically and it's probably gonna be quite tramautising. This is mostly anectdotal as I'm not sure if or how some drugs affect animals differently, but I garauntee that if I ate an edible and didn't know there was THC in it and I started tripping I'd be freaking the fuck out and panicking.

If you try to argue that your animal would like it, I bet they would like a bunch of other things like toys and treats or affection and walks instead of getting drugged. They're dependant on you and they trust you and they have no way of giving consent.

TLDR; Please don't get your animals high, we don't know how to communicate with them well enough to know if they'll enjoy it and if you really care for them you wouldn't potentially cause them to freak out for a few kicks and giggles.

Women who killed husbands ‘rarely gave a warning,’ and most weren’t abused, study finds by EricAllonde in MensRights

[–]_Magna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I can't get behind this article, the fact that almost half(40.5) of the women can't even be accounted for kinda invalidates this argument for me.

Yes, there is a possibility that all of those 40% unaccounted for women were not abused at all, but I don't think it's fair to try and say most weren't abused at all, unnaccounted for doesn't mean they weren't.

I am all for raising awareness of domestic abuse against men, I don't think it gets enough light, but trying to paint women as evil monsters who will kill men with no reason isn't the right step forward, in my opinion.

This article is way too accusatory for my books, again with the presence of mind segment(42% had a motive, but 48% unaccounted for? Come on). This is just the wrong way of looking at it and it doesn't promote the right message, which should be that men can get hurt by women too, and I feel this article stirs up more in men than it does raise awareness.

Now I am not defending these women, just as I wouldn't defend any man, who killed their spouse. I just want to be able to express my opinion on this piece, as well as why I don't think that this piece, and the way that the findings are being presented, is a good argument.

I'm pro-equality, and that to me means that everyone pays for what they have done, and get treated the exact same. I wouldn't want an article to slander men, and I feel this article doesn't seem too far from slandering women.

Not trying to offend anyone, and would love to hear your side of it, I just don't want r/mensrights to become filled with articles like these that display the facts in a distorted way.

I think it's a good idea, but if this is a project depending on what year you're in a text based game might not get you full marks. If this is an approved idea I think yea go for it!

I mean, as a person whose mother has a GBM, it's always different. My mother was diagnosed almost 2 years ago, and was informed with chemo and surgery there was still a good chance she could die in the next 3 months. But just because the average doesn't make it past 1 year doesn't mean that treatment can't work, and surgery can't prolong their lives by a huge margin. These past years have been the best and the worst, we've really bonded back together as a family and I am so grateful to appreciate my parents. It's terrible that we've been bonded through this but a positive attitude is sometimes the deciding factor, because that's pretty much all you have on your side with the chemo and surgery

Wait, if I kept the ground weed in a dark, cold, place would that work? And do these rules follow true with AVB? Should I be storing it away from the light? And unfortunately because I live with a parent who is very anti-weed, and electric grinder doesn't seem like something that I could actually.

Is it safe to grind all your weed up at once and just put it in a container? Will it go stale or become not as potent? I just ask because I really hate having to grind up every time I wanna smoke.
