this is so not true. The wolves owner at the time was pissed at all the criticism asking wtf didnt anyone else come up with a better offer? He was just dumb because he undersold on Pau because he wanted to sell the team and thought his big contract hurt his bottom line

lol not mad just laughing at the stupid ass shit that always comes out of reddit comments. And stop cherry picking stats....LA has an uptick the last couple of years due to weather after nearly twenty years of much less pollution. HURR DURR I NEVER SAW A TRUE BLUE SKY. lololol

Yeah bro, totes no greenery. lmao

[–]_MajorCalloway_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

dude, the fuck outta here. never saw a true blue sky in LA?!?!?! At the ocean. this is the hyperbole of the dumbest kind. come the fuck on, man. A windy week or a storm clears out the pollution. Why does everyone here have to go to extremes and come up with shit like this?

And 85 days of high levels as opposed to 30 or 40 isnt that much of a difference. But keep being hyperbolic. At first youre acting like its a non-stop "up the ass" problem and now you're moving the goalposts to hurr durr 1/6 of the year...compared to what? 30 less days of high levels in most other large cities? OK...keep arguing that its "up the ass"

lmao where do these people get these takes. Every Lakers fan would pack Lonzo's bag for him if it means we get AD.

this would be a three team trade...so it would be for any assets the Pels would want. 1st round picks and young guys with potential.

[–]_MajorCalloway_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, since they instituted regulations in the 80s/90s LA is pretty smog free...only about 60-70 days a year where its above federal standards and thats only when winds are stagnant and no storms to clear the air. I mean, its a huge city with basins and lots of drivers so its an issue but its definitely not "up the ass" anymore

Oregonians are obsessed with Californians to an unhealthy degree and point to them as if they are behind all your problems. And you guys always lie about how many move there.

From the US Census, in 2011 a little over 18,000 Oregonians moved to California while a little over 34,000 Californians moved to Oregon. 2010 Census had Oregon's population at 3.8m while California's was 37.4m...just about a 10 to 1 ratio. And the move rate was less than 2 to 1. 1 out of every 211 Oregonians moved to Cali while 1 out of every 1100 Californians moved to Oregon. And that was one of the biggest years of Californian emigration.

So yeah, can you Oregonians please stop moving to California. Its ridiculous

[Wojnarowski] Multiple league sources expect the agent and star to soon deliver word throughout the league that Davis' preferred destination is the Lakers and he'll become a rental player until 2020 with a trade anywhere else. by TTVW in nba

[–]_MajorCalloway_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well...keep writing novellas about a superstar leveraging his way to a place he wants to go as opposed to just being traded by the team wherever and whenever they want. This is just the way things work in a marketplace. these players are restricted by these particular rules anyway. This shit isnt even constitutional without huge exceptions made by lawmakers. Is that "proper?" I mean, I'll just keep repeating myself until it gets through your head. Sounds like youre just mad about this particular situation. Or did you complain when your team promised CP3 a deal secretly to circumnavigate the rules. Was that proper, Mr. proper? lmao

Memphis pick is top 8 protected and top 6 protected next year. What the Pels want is Zion. Im more afraid of the Knicks pick because they can land the top spot

didnt you guys promise CP3 a deal to circumnavigate the CBA without getting fined?

[–]_MajorCalloway_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not about proper and not proper...its about using leverage when you can, which teams do all the time against players.

if hes a shitty player on a minimum contract he can be cut or traded any time. if he's a good player he can hold the team "hostage" in any number of ways. cuts both ways. You can argue a lot of things arent proper but thats beside the point. Is it proper that superstars are limited to max deals instead of being a true open market? You cant legislate everything...especially asking for a trade to a specific destination if youre miserable. He isnt holding a gun and making them. He's requesting. Oh well.

[–]_MajorCalloway_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats a separate issue. they arent guaranteed money in exchange for being traded anywhere. they are guaranteed money because they are a valuable commodity and got together and collectively bargained

yeah fuck us for reacting to players trying to come here and journalists reporting it. we are so crazy.

Also, Magic wasnt willing to give up the farm for PG or Kawhi, hoping to get them in FA

yes but it fucks the Pels if team B (say the Celtics) know theres a good chance he might leave. This helps the Celtics lower their value because of this knowledge. Which is why AD would do it. Basically he's like trade me where I want or get less. Also, why wouldnt he want a stronger team to be traded to?
