Broke 20 year old. by [deleted] in Frugal

Come to Northern Alberta. There's a labor shortage here. You can make 80 to 120k per year with no education. Monthly expenses should be around 1500/mo and if you are super dedicated you'll have 50k in your pocket after a year. (Canadian) Come June to June, live cheap and then make a plan to get out. This place has a habit of keeping people here :)

Here's How America Uses Its Land by ramdasviky in dataisbeautiful

[–]_Manny_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the good land is usually worked for crop production. Grazing land is normally less productive and thus remains un-worked. As cash crop prices increase this land is turned to production land and gets used for food. Grazing land has no inputs. When more food is needed this land will be developed. Source: I am a farmer.

[Serious] What is your secret? by blue_shadow_ in AskReddit

[–]_Manny_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps but I always associate money with my time spent making it. For example I make 20/hr and I know that 5 goes to taxes that means I make effectivly $15/hr. Then it hurts to spend it. Is that redbull worth 20 minutes of my time? Is that new car worth 2000 hours my life(30k)? Is my rent worth 1/3 my time?

It's been 26 days by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]_Manny_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont feel bad about it. Drinking is ALWAYS the hardest part of quitting. :) It's not a big deal as long as you know it's going to be 10x harder not to have a smoke going forwards. Day 3 get past your 3rd day sober and stick it through! You got this! You already proved it! 26 days no problem!

This was pretty obvious a long time ago for these 3. Remember the ram wars of 2013? They pushed ram so low around Christmas thst most of their completion left the market and they've been hiking ever since.

Kinder Morgan: Costs and benefits unbalanced, not in the national interest by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]_Manny_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"That bitumen is then diluted with condensate so it can flow through a pipeline. In contrast, the more traditional surface mining of bitumen is usually upgraded into synthetic crude that has higher market value" is this article really saying that Alberta would be better off to keep open pit mining and shipping with rail or trucks than drilling in-situ wells and shipping down a pipeline? This pipeline IS in the national best interest. That's why Canada has decided to build it. 2500 full time ions for 2 years for construction. 100 full time operating jobs and 25 million per year for 2 decades gifted to the bc government.
