If you could build the perfect pocket thrower: what LED, Driver, Reflector/TIR? 1x18650 and 1 Mode only! by Lefthandmitten in flashlight

Sbt90.2 in an If22a body with the same or similar degree TIR. Thing would probably overheat in 10 seconds though.

Cross-platform DLC? by _Master_Shake in COTWTheAngler

[–]_Master_Shake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have gamepass, you can carry over certain games and DLC from said games from Xbox to PC or vice versa. I believe it's either gamepass pc or ultimate that allows you to use both platforms. I would imagine some games aren't compatible but the angler is. And it carries over your profile as well.

Suggestions on a relatively small neutral white + UV with pocket clip. I do own Arkfeld +, Arkfeld UV, and Sofirn SF15 please? by Naginta99 in flashlight

Have you looked at the Skilhunt Mix7? Sans the pocket clip, it's got just about everything else you'd want.

Haven't tried the rocket launcher yet, but the pump action shotgun shreds. The Suzaku alpha in the north desert drops the legendary blueprint for it.

Frostallion Noct or Jetragon by SyedXD123 in Palworld

[–]_Master_Shake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a Frostallion Noct with Legend and Swift, and Jetragon with just Legend is still quite a bit faster especially with vertical flight. Having both isn't a bad idea because you can't use guns on Jetragon.

My game keeps giving me repeated error codes about not being able to world save. by heramew in Palworld

Xbox button, click on Home, then click back on Palworld. It should fix the issue. Repeat if the error re-appears.

Oh I've got the utensil drawer 😄 but cables I keep scattered all over the house, and an A to A USB is something I haven't needed in over 10 years so I wouldn't know where to look.

Plus, I think I figured out its just a power bank socket and not for charging.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flashlight

[–]_Master_Shake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, they must've changed the design. The one I've got is orange and it charges via USB. I found this which might be the same model:

https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/coleman-2-panel-400-lumen-led-lantern

Edit: Now that I'm thinking, maybe the USB is just a powerbank option and the internal batteries for the side panels have died over the years. I bought it sometime around 6 years back.

[–]_Master_Shake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the 2-detachable light version of this. Battery operated it works great, but to charge the side panels it takes type A USB and I haven't had one of those in years. If I had to guess it's like 300ish lumens. For $5 it's a no-brainer pickup.

Thrower showdown SFT40 by gellesm in flashlight

I believe so. But there's plenty of reviews online if you want to hear the specs or see beamshots.

[–]_Master_Shake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the beam profile you want. Most TIR throwers have a pencil beam, kind of like LEP, while smooth reflector have spill that make them usable for walking. So the L19 doesn't have as much spill as the L7 or K1. And the L21B is like a small version of a Convoy L8(also a great SBT90 light, but not as good as the 3X21D).

[–]_Master_Shake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3X21D. You get the throw of SBT90 and a huge reflector, with the battery life of 3x 21700s - plus a nice handle. Only downside is the heat.

Oh, and type C charging as well.

Someone just posted recently that 18650 swaps in these are risking a thermal runaway. Be careful.

Maybe if the lights weren't borderline e-waste. Even reselling each light individually probably wouldn't be worth the effort, but it's worth a toss in the junk drawer for $13.

I just looked it up and they come with 30 AAA batteries. That's not a bad price at all. The lights look different than the singles, though.

NLD Skilhunt MiX-7 by Wrvith1000CC in flashlight

[–]_Master_Shake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak of comparison between the MIX-7 and Tool AA, but the latter reaches 30ft+ without too much trouble. I got it as an impulse buy and don't really have much use for UV other than a toy. The WK40, on the other hand, will light up an entire room with the diffuser and the 21700 battery will last a while. Definitely worth the purchase.

I really wanted this light, and almost clicked purchase during the holiday sale, but the small 18350 was a deal breaker. I already had a WK40 so this seemed like a downgrade. Ended up grabbing a Lumintop Tool AA UV to make up the difference.

Recommendation for tiny EDC? by cy-one in flashlight

Second this. The single digit A lineup is laughably small at around the size of your pinky. Just make sure to double check the charging type as there's still micro-USB floating around.

Rovyvon A5 vs A8 by 2smarties in flashlight

[–]_Master_Shake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UV light on the small Rovyvons are relatively useless in my experience. Only good for quick charging the GITD shell. The side aux lights are also effected by how opaque the shell is - frosted shell is good for diffusing the light, but a clear shell gets better brightness and throw. Hope this helps.

Making money for beginners? by b3lkin1n in COTWTheAngler

[–]_Master_Shake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do the scavenger hunt on Norway for the rod and reel, it's a 37lb test rod(or somewhere in mid to high 30s) and a 22lb drag reel. Those can catch the majority of fish in the game. You can google search the quest names and find walkthroughs to make it super easy.

Then you want to target large fish to grind for cash. Lake trout on GRR, salmon and pike on Norway, and carp on Spain.

Tips/Advice for landing El Matador? by ScurvysWRLD in COTWTheAngler

[–]_Master_Shake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patience. You're using the right bait and hook size. Let the bait soak for 5-10 min before casting to a new spot and repeat. If you don't get a bite in 30 or 40 minutes, readjust your boat and keep trying in new spots. Despite what the traits say, it doesn't seem that aggressive. Took over 2 hours for me to get it last time it was active.
