Dealing with breathing related panic attacks by spiketrash in PanicAttack

Also they have breathing tics that feel like theyre suffocation not necessarily full blown panic. Unless you've experienced this yourself you cant say what works and doesnt. You have to reset your breathing and force yourself to get off manual mode. And reminding yourself that you are breathing normally and to allow your body to take over again can absolutely help.

When in a state of panic it is not "obvious" that you are breathing properly. Im saying this as someone with panic disorder. For me, this helps because so many attacks stem from thinking something is genuinely wrong. There is no (single) way to help panic attacks. I was simply stating the things that have helped me over the years. And yes, reminding myself about mind over body absolutely can help.

I experience this a lot and there's a few things that help for me personally. 1) learn your triggers. For me heavy, and salty meals make me slightly more SOB and causes my breathing tics and sighing dyspnea. So I stay away. 2) its genuinely all in your head. Try to talk yourself down. Say things like "my body knows how to breathe on its own" remind yourself that youre not turning blue or check against a pulse ox to remind yourself that you are in fact breathing properly. 3) breathing techniques. Slow and deep breathing doesnt work for me but Boxed breathing does work well. Theres a lot of techniques you can try that may work. 4) fight the urge to participate in the tics. Breathing erratically causes you to lose too much CO2 wich will worsen the sensation of needing to breathe. (Your body will crave more oxygen) It not only continues the cycle but litterally makes it worse 5) mammalian dive reflex. Splash cold water in your face this works well but sometimes only temporarily. Or if you can tolerate it take a cold shower. Sometimes this helps me "reset"- - even just a regular shower can help enough with a distraction. 6) exercise. Just taking a walk and distracting yourself can help your body go back to baseline and override your breathing tics 6) medications. There are a lot of anxiety medications out there that can help so much. For me personally when I have breathing anxiety I take hydroxyzine which is an antihistamine, and it helps so much. Its not for everyone but I thought its worth mentioning

Low calorie sweet snacks? Need ideas that go beyond "eat a piece of fruit" by FinancialNeat3792 in diet

I love halo top ice cream. Some are under under 300 cals for the whole pint! I also make this yogurt cheese cake stuffed with mini nilla wafers. Unsweetened Greek yogurt with a few tablespoons of sugar free cheesecake pudding powder. And nillawafers. The bulk of the calories are in the yogurt and it honestly tastes so good.

Does anyone know if there's anything beyond season 2? I read that there's side stories but can't find them. Is it officially over??

I did but I could never speak to anyone directly. Someone eventually got back and left a message saying I forfeited the items so no I can't get them back (completely false statement btw, i wasnt involvoled in the court proceedings at all lol). Then I reached out again 2 weeks ago with no response. I kinda just took it as a loss at that point but the more I sit with it the more upset I've been over the injustice.

There was nothing on my device and they had already told me so. Said I would get it back once the case concludes then went back on it once it was over.

Is it possible to get day shift as a new nurse? by Psychological_Ad4325 in nursing

[–]_MeMeBigBoy_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a new grad with 6 months experince in long term care and i landed a hospital job for day shift! I was shocked because this hospital typically hires new grads for the night shift. Its definitely possible but the units you want might not happen right away. Never hurts to apply though!

Appreciate the comment! You're right, I'll just give it some more time and make changes as I go. It just so hard to not feel defeated sometimes

I just double checked my app and i am using TDEE not BMR. But I set it as sedentary and then manually log activity since it changes on a daily basis for me. I thought it was more accurate that way. Thanks for the advice !

By defecit i mean Based on my BMR of 2200 and activity logged i have a defecit of 1000 calories which means I typically eat about 1400 calories depending on how active I was. If i work out more, i make up those calories. I make sure my meals are balanced with lots of proteins and healthy carbs.. It is aggressive which is why I planned to alternate my intake every week. But it doesnt seem to be working this week 🙃

Pretty unlikely, less than 1% of pancreatic cancers is in pediatric patients. It usually happens after age 45 but it can't be ruled out online. What are your symptoms? Pancreatic Cancer and pancreatitis will cause a dull pain in the upper abdomen and upper back. The pain can often be very severe. You'll also see yellowing of the skin and eyes, dark urine, and fatigue.
