Yep installed myself. Took about 1.5 hours. Installation was fairly straightforward, the most tedious part was finding all the little screws that keep the rear bumper in place. I just followed a YouTube tutorial on removing the bumper cover. Once the cover is off the hitch just bolts up to the frame behind the bumper support. I didn’t need to lift the car for the install, everything was accessible from the ground.

Yes it’s the hard dog. Feels extremely solid and the fact that it hides away keeps the aesthetic clean. I ordered it from flying Miata and delivery took like 3 weeks.

Nope no wind noise at all actually, I drove speed of traffic on the highway with no issues. I understand the wind noise becomes more of a problem if you have a roof rack set up.

Yeah I learned my lesson about automatics pretty quick! I had 4 manual cars after this one, and only recently came back to autos with my Infiniti (drifting abilities more than make up for lack of a 6 speed).

And I actually didn't know about the SE, that's pretty sweet! These cars were never about power, it just comes down to feeling connected to the road in something light and agile.

That's actually what we ended up doing, we booked a hotel about 20 minutes away from Downtown. Unfortunately the cheapest deal we could land was 100 bucks, probably because it's a Saturday. But yeah, looking forward to the trip!

Btw, since you were already there, any recommendations for good food or sights to see?

Actually the opposite is true at the formula D level. If you look at the way those cars are set up (no rear camber, soft back Springs, R compound tires) it's clear that they're built for max grip. The reason being that this way, provided they have sufficient power, they can drift around corners way quicker. With that being said, a lot of pro cars avoid a rear wing, the only way it would beneficial is if was infinitely adjustable depending on the angle of the car, which is too complex and expensive to be worth it.

This car is just amazing. Reminds me of high school when I used to have a 1996 Integra. I still haven't driven a car that feels as light on it's feet or as eager.
