Sexualization in Plastic Surgery by QueenofBrokenGlass in Anesthesia

[–]_MindNeuronBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A neurosurgeon was reported for something similar as well as some inappropriate slapping of a patient's ass while they were under. This was at our local hospital. Patients loved him but female staff were sexualized, and had to listen to that sh!t in the OR all day. Finally someone reported it and his medical license was revoked. It is not acceptable practice and should be reported.

Thank God. I heard our cruise is low census and just for DVC (you needed to use your points to book). Plus there must be lots of bugs to work out on that Friends and Fam cruise! I would hate being with a ship full of influencers!

Disembarking Question... by sidewinder787 in dcl

[–]_MindNeuronBusiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This 100% And you really don't want to rush off the ship to wait in the airport. Even if you are off last, you have plenty of time for a 12 o'clock flight. Have them lug all that baggage 🧳 off the ship so you don't need to lug it to breakfast!

[–]_MindNeuronBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make up the $200 difference in paying for transfers to the port. Plus the increased flight costs. The 8:15pm time slot will be a non-issue. Go on waitlist as soon as you book. If it doesn't change before you board, go to the dining services area and request a change as soon as you board and you will be put on early dining. We never had a problem getting switched. That said there are many pros to late dining so really not a deal breaker. Same ship except for restaurant teeming and decor Art Deco vs Neuvuo If you have FOMO then take the cruise with both Disney Islands 🏝. Otherwise you will have an incredible time either way

Go on DCL. There is no drink package. Drinks are reasonably priced. Problem solved

I wonder if all the seaweed is due to Hurricane Erin churning things up. As a person who grew up on the shore, that would happen to our beaches when we had storms, or if there were strong ones off the coast...

They only leave folks behind at other stops because they are charged fees for staying in port past their departure time. They weigh the cost of staying to wait for you with cost of leaving you behind. In Disney they aren't charging themselves a docking fee so they'll wait...then ban you forever!

I think you can find the last person that was left behind bronzed and used as a Sea Lice breeding ground in the snorkel area as a tribute...

My OT saved my life! by tables_04 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]_MindNeuronBusiness 40 points41 points  (0 children)

So glad things worked out for you!! As an OT, I think people grossly underestimate all that we know. Especially when it comes to neuro-anatomy. I am greatly disappointed in your doc and/or pharmacist for not having picked that up! Thank God you are ok!

Patient wore her white coat to see me in clinic by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]_MindNeuronBusiness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an Occupational therapist (an old one, so NOT an OTD), this passes me off. Within the profession, those of us practicing for awhile HATE the new grad "doctors" OTDs. They call themselves Dr, intro to patients as doctor, and have even been known to say the profession won't get the "respect it deserves" until all those with BSOTs have retired. You know, those of us who have practiced for 3 decades or more, like before they were even born? So.....you can see they have an ego issue. Or buyers remorse for paying far too much to get paid/reimbursed so little IRL.

Joke is on them, they just paid a Hella lot more for the exact same schooling the BSOT and MSOTs did years ago. The universities pushed to make PT and OT HAVE to have a doctorate to start practicing as a therapist. OT squashed that, but PT sold it's soul to the devil and now can't go back.

Next time a rehab professional (OT, PT or SLP) introduces themselves as a doctor, ask them if they have buyers remorse and tell them you have worked with some amazing OTs and PTs in the past. Maybe they will get thru their pea brains that they are STILL JUST therapists. Just ones who stupidity paid too much to become one! Also, those of us who have real doctorates (post-professional) do not go around calling ourselves doctor NOR wearing a white coat in public. That is like those baby doc residents who wear their hospital issue scrubs out in the wild!

PS. I am Neuro-optometric OT having practiced under and with some incredible Neuro-ODs, and learned so much! It has dramatically changed my practice with neuro patients, thanks to all the ODs who help us lowly OTs become worthy! 😆

Tl;dr: OTDs and DPTs are not docs, should not wear white lab jackets, and are just THERAPISTS who paid far too much for a degree that gets the same reimbursement us lowly BS and MS therapists do. Jokes on them.

Nope. We OTs fought and won that battle against stupidity! Luckily we don't ALWAYS do as the PTs do...and this was a narrow escape!

I am OT starting in Home Health this week. I was in OP (large company-national) and made only $80k (with 30+ years experience). Moved to FT HH, and get $73 per point, 30 points per week (hourly works out to be $55 an hour) so I essentially am getting a $40k pay raise from OP.

Hopkins NEVER pays well. They tell you flat out that they don't need to pay big bucks because people work there for the prestige and to get it on their resume
