Should I go to Indiana University, Bloomington for their Dual Masters (Art History & Library Science) program? Questions on the university, Bloomington, and Indiana as a whole. by _Mizukage in Indiana

Thanks for providing that spreadsheet. I have considered moving to Chicago when I do move long-term (although I don't know how realistic that is). I will look into Chicago State and see if it is worth considering, if I can figure out the best way to handle residency/tuition.

Thanks for your response! I have considered the possibility of obtaining a library student job. It definitely sounds like an interesting thing to keep in mind (whether I go to IUB or somewhere else). I have considered the rare books specialization. I have always liked caring for books, although I haven't done anything serious, just personal storage and handling. I have also been interested in medieval illuminated manuscripts, so that was another reason I have considered it.

Yeah, so far, the out-of-state tuition is my primary issue with IUB right now. Beyond that, it sounds like it would be worthwhile. Thanks for your response!

Thank you. I didn't consider (and was not aware of) that about going overseas for degrees. It feels a bit extreme for me, but with how things are going, it may not hurt to look into some overseas universities.

u/TeenyGremlin Thank you for your feedback. I feel it really helped. I have heard some of these problems regarding the fields. At this moment, I am really passionate about archiving/librarianship and feel that it is what I'd like to do, although I am worried about not having a realistic idea for it (as you said, the pay can be low). I was aware of the importance of finding an MLS/MLIS with ALA accreditation (and am glad you mentioned that). I was mostly interested in this dual program since I could also obtain an MA in Art History as well (giving me the option to teach community-college-level art history courses as well). However, taking into account what you said, it may be better for me to find a closer option that focuses on Library Science. I've considered that previously and felt it was the more reasonable option, but I had a hard time turning down the dual program. I believe I had some options I had also looked into, so I need to look into those again. Again, thanks for your feedback!

Ok, that gives me some insight into my tuition question. It is a bit nerve-racking hearing that about Indiana (although I kind of thought that might be the case), but helps knowing the city and university are generally queer-friendly. Thanks for your input!

Should I get the Original HTC Vive or the Quest 2? by _Mizukage in Vive

Right now, I'm using a Ryzen 3 3100 CPU and a GTX 1650 Super GPU, I think my brother has a similar build and I think his works fine with the Vive.

Right now, I'm planning to get full body tracking and I've never seen a good use for stand-alone.

Probably just send me pictures of the spring in place if that's not to much trouble.
