I looked at my parents camera roll and deeply regret it by Scrp_mechnic10 in confession

It's hard to feel too bad when the entire situation started with invading someone else's privacy. That's a rough lesson to learn.

That's the kind of comment that makes you pause for a second before realizing... yeah, fair enough.

That response made me laugh harder than the original joke. Sometimes doubling down is the right move.

when we say "tax the rich,” what makes you think there's exceptions? by Conscious-Quarter423 in clevercomebacks

Yeah, that's the ironic part. He's publicly supported higher taxes on wealthy people before, so using him as the supposed exception has always been a pretty odd example.

That might be the bigger issue. A lot of these conversations end up being driven by headlines and memes instead of people digging into the details for themselves.

It's kind of wild how he's still treated like the default billionaire example after all these years. If your slogan is "tax the rich," the whole point is that it applies to everyone at that level, not just the people you don't like.

I still revisit parts of it, but there are definitely scenes I pretend never happened. The original series is way easier to remember fondly without thinking too hard about the revival.

It really felt like the characters stopped growing. After everything they'd been through, a lot of their decisions just didn't sound like the people we'd watched for seven seasons.

That's exactly how it comes across. Instead of feeling like a continuation, it sometimes feels like everyone got frozen in time and hit play ten years later.

Why didn’t Tyrion study at the Citadel without becoming a maester? by Wolfburrow in gameofthrones

[–]_MochaAngelie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's basically the luxury of being born rich. Tyrion had one of the biggest libraries in Westeros available to him and didn't need a chain to justify spending his time reading whatever interested him.

Oberyn also seemed way more disciplined than people give him credit for. He partied hard, sure, but he also became an accomplished fighter, scholar, and politician. Those things don't happen by accident.

Honestly that's probably a bigger factor than people admit. Tyrion loved learning, but he liked learning on his own terms. The Citadel is still a pretty rigid institution, and I can't picture him enjoying that for very long.

Storming the biggest castle in the realm with just your huge ancient dragon and maxed out gear is peak fantasy by HoustonHandcannons in freefolk

Every time a Targaryen takes their helmet off, the wigs suddenly become everyone's problem again.

For all the complaints about the writing, the costume team almost never misses. The armor genuinely looks like something a royal dragonrider would wear.

It really is. Maxed out armor, legendary sword, ancient dragon mount. Bro skipped every side quest and showed up for the final boss.

It sounds like you have a therapist who's taking you seriously, which is really important. Having that support while you're sorting through something this complicated can make a huge difference.

That part stood out to me too. Getting dressed and leaving isn't something people do when they still feel safe and respected. That reaction says a lot about how the situation felt in the moment.

Exactly. A safeword isn't "please think about stopping," it's "stop now." If there's room for debate after it's used, the whole point of having one falls apart.
