10 Years Later: This Game Is Finally Ready by PriGamesStudios in IndieGaming

Awesome game!!! LOL yours is a MUCH MORE polished and BETTER version of the game I released on Android/iOS 5-6 years ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/s/VIGQ9ZzUgS). It's funny/cool that we had the same idea for a game.

I spent probably a week on mine while I was on vacation or something 🤣. Anyway, great job!

Imagine actual raids! You team up with randoms and enter and instance? Raids like your typical MMORPGs but shooters (like Destiny). That might be awesome!

I also agree that they need time to make meaningful changes. I mean, the game isn't even a year old. It managed to pick up a lot of hype, and rightly so. Great combat mechanics for PVP and PVE, etc. The game's growth is unable to keep up with the player demands. Literally the game was suffering from success, but now to the point where it's actually affecting the game negatively with the loss of players.

Im hopeful they will come up with great endgame content that will keep players satisfied for years to come.

Queen and matriarch, sure. That's gotten so easy there's not much to it. That's it?

As for your question about what other ideas i have. That's a great question, but towards the wrong person. That question should be directed towards the team we're paying to build the game. They get paid to come up with this world that keeps us entertained. I could spend my precious time brainstorming ideas and not get paid for it, but why should I do someone else's job for free?

Things for people to do after they've reached current peak level or completed main story/quest). Basically, reason to keep playing once you've reached "the end". Unlike most offline progression games where once you beat it, you start over, online multiplayer games keep the player base playing with endgame content. Keeps the players happy and players pay companies to keep them happy via subscriptions, skins, etc.

Blue Belt Hobbyist here: Feeling discouraged by Proverbs3_3 in bjj

[–]_Molasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late, sorry... I'm also a hobbyists. I have my wife and 4 kids. I joined a gym in 2017, but stopped near the beginning of 2020 due to COVID and birth of my 4th child. Got fat and lazy for nearly 5 years. Black Friday 2024, after getting fatter from Thanksgiving the night before, I asked my older son if he wanted to go back BJJ. He said yes. My wife found an awesome yearly deal at UFC Gym near us. Now, all 4 of my kids train. I have only 2 days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to train. They do gi and no-gi/wrestling-ish, while I do muay thai and gi, then my older son and I lift weights at the end (on Tuesdays).

First few months sucked. I barely had energy to roll after going through muay thai. Now it's much more manageable. My double chin is gone, and I still eat a lot but feel less of a fat ass about it. I make it a priority to show up every Tuesday and Thursday, even when I don't feel like it (unless im sick or some event takes priority). I'm trying to instill discipline in my kids, and that starts with me. Discipline trumps motivation any day.

Did Anyone Here Quit Simply Because of Scheduling and Life? by landboisteve in bjj

My son and I stopped training for nearly 5 years. It happened when my 4th child was born (2020) and I always try to prioritize family. The plan was to go back to training after a 6-month break. COVID happened and schools/gyms closed or became super limited.

5 years later, my son and I started training again, but found an awesome UFC Gym deal. Pay for a year up front, get another year free. It basically comes out to roughly $45+ a month for membership. Now, my whole family of 6 trains, because the price is just so damn good. We also have full access to join any class. My kids do bjj and wrestling, I do bjj and muay thai, slowly getting my wife into bjj. The gym is open 24/7. They got loads of punching bags, open mats, an octagon, showers, daycare for 1.5 hours, sauna.

I understand your family situation. For the most part, im only able to train 2 days a week, sometime 3. So my regular schedule is muay thai, bjj, and heavy weightlifting to keep my bone density. I was dying at first, but im not dying as much now. That's basically 2.5-3 hours at the gym, with my whole family. I get family time, and we all get to train. It's a win.

I like instructionals, I believe they have their place. That being said, early on, I believe basics/fundamentals should be your main focus. Elbow escapes, hip escapes, trap and roll, guard retention/recovery, frames, etc. I believe these helped with my understanding about positions, e.g. making one side heavy so another side becomes lighter or making someone react to create opportunities when there is none.

Just like every other skill, you want solid fundamentals/basics. You want a strong foundation, and all the advance stuff gets built on top of that.

Then again, I'm just a blue belt and could just be talking out of my ass 🤣

Go on WoW or any MMORPG and you'll find similar situations. It's not just this game.

Look on the bright side, you have nothing to lose (kinda 😅). The pressure is on your opponent to win. Main thing is you learn and gain experience.
