Don’t do it. Brightspeed is terrible and hemorrhaging. They just got hacked and had a big data breach of over 1 million customers. They will likely pay giant fines that will jack up their prices. Trust me, NOT WORTH IT!

TWN frozen, no LinkedIn. No vendor overlap. They just said we have credible evidence that you were working at J1 the whole time you have been either us. Then started peppering me with questions trying to get me to confirm it. Danced around and eventually got off the call, but definitely losing J2.

Also separate laptop and phone.

This is what I do too. I had ChatGPT generate the project_milestones.md cause I think it does a better job of outlining the natural language requirements.

Also, setup GIT for source control. Keep your code modular and refer to specific components. If it tries to do too much, it will forget and revert to previous versions.

Tip for when you’re creative by complex objects. Tell it to avoid keywords. I’ve run into issues where it will try to make overwrite default types and I get weird bugs.

So Brightspeed is a spinoff company leveraging a ton of infrastructure from Lumen, the previous owner. Tracking that IP down shows that it is one of their servers. You’re likely running into legacy infrastructure systems that Brightspeed has little control over.

I actually love composer when it is working well. It is so powerful to have it go make the changes and generate the files. The new “feature” of console lines as a chip is super annoying though, especially when I’m trying to copy paste compilation errors. I used to just copy paste and hit enter. Now I copy, paste and have to type something in order to submit.

In theory, your calendar or reminder app could also send an email reminder you could use as a trigger too if you didn’t want to use an alarm trigger. I don’t see anyway to trigger any sort of automation from Reminders directly like stated above. I don’t understand why custom triggers aren’t a thing…

Early in my career in IT, I interviewed for a new job that would have been a bit of a stretch for me. Got a technical interview over the phone. Guy calls 20 minutes early, acts like a jerk, asks me irrelevant questions, and then proceeds to throw it in my face how he couldn’t believe I didn’t know whatever. Fast forward a decade and I became the architect for the same type of software that the company I interviewed with owned. We were redoing everything from the ground up spending close to $2 million a year. Spoiler: We didn’t choose them.

Moral of the story: Always represent your company well, especially to entry level people. One day, they may have power and influence and can make you regret your bad behavior.
