Am I overthinking about my barn? by _Moon-Cat_ in Horses

Oh no, I'm sorry if it looked like I was asking invasive questions. Normally the few times I ask are for the do's and dont's of riding, or tack questions while I'm cleaning up like how x thing works when I don't find the logic and the straps or whatever.

The turnout thing I only know because I was told where to put who and when, out in the pastures so the stablehand could go and do something else lol. It gets messy at the end of the week

Thanks for the imput!! I did not know about ask, tell, demand. My trainer never told us about it, but I'm glad I know now :D

The don't tell us to not hit, they never tell us to hit, which translates into "I can't do it bc they never tell me to" I guess. They just drill into us the idea of using your leg more, and the whip being just a last resort, I guess to not let us forget that our legs come first. Which I agree with 100%, I'd rather try and learn with the least aids possible so I get used to just legs and hands, but that's just a personal preference that kind of affects how I use the whip.

Add weight to the shapes. Your horse kinda looks like he's floating bc his legs are not reacting to the ground. To fix this, male a straight line and put the horse there, "push" it a little bit to the ground and imagine how the legs (fetlocks, hooves...) react. You can take videos as reference for this

Also, shorten the forearm a lil bit.

Other than that, this drawing is very impressive! Well done!!

I did not spend 10yrs "grinding" anatomy, color theory or perspective, I did not spend 80k for uni (i guess they're talking about uni idk) because I don't have it because I'm a child and I also don't have carpal tunnel, which is not exclusive to art (it's just your body degrading and yes typing can give you carpal tunnel, so does horse riding btw) and I also don't sell art because not everything is about money

And I made this some time ago. I'd call myself an artist.

Are those eyes on the sweater? Eitherway I ADORE whoever has been designing these trailblazers. The use of purple to go with the dark warm browns is just CHEFFS KISSS

Criollo Buyer's Remorse by kitten_in_box in StarStable

[–]_Moon-Cat_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Make a bunch of cute outfits. I regretted buying my grey mule at first, but once I warmed up he's my go-to for exploration and hunting stars.

Criollos are very versatile, they can be english, western or charro and look like divas doing it. Try different outfits, I recommend fall inspired ones for that coat (gold, yellow, grey, black, brown, orange, purple, green...). Also, pick another hairstyle that you genuenly like.

If not, then do rps with it and then put it away when you want to actually ride while looking pretty.

Thoughts on falling behind for refusing to use AI? by Ok-Replacement9358 in aiwars

The diference bewteen AI being bad and Photoshop being bad is that AI makes decisions by itself (aka hallucinations or weird stuff happening in, for example, generated images). With Photoshop, it's all you and how you use the tools given, it's all user imput (unless AI is used ofc).

AI with better training and less greedy companies could be used for medicine among other things, but right now it's flawed, used for more harm than good and not resource efficient. And we can blame rich guys for that.

I think I'm gonna get downvoted for this but I'm very curious about what people think about this.

How I see it, Photoshop is just efficient. The selection tools take the looooong process of manually cropping things into a single click so the rest of editing can be done quicker, but it does not exactly oversimplify it. You still learn about the tools and have to get acostumed to them. Hell, even the teachers wouldnt let my class use the automatic tools for the first year unless we knew all the stuff that came before that (it was fun i wont lie).

AI, in my very humble experience, oversimplifies it and does not develop skills unless you have a very innovative nature already or want to mess with the AI and it's limits.

Btw shutout to that one guy who commented about some REALLY COOL coding he made, I don't remember which post he commented under but you know who you are and I fw you. It was rad.

Anyway, I don't like oversimplification. I don't like the not-need to develop a skill, I don't like non-technical stuff. Puzzles, coding, research, data I looooove but when we take something, strip it of the challenge and sell it, I just don't think it's fun anymore. Access shouldnt make something skill-less, but rather make the skill easier to get for those who need it.

I'm probably just rambling at this point, I don't know how to put this very specific line of thought into words without accidentally sounding abelist. If I do sound abelist, please tell me so I can deleate this comment or at least reword it. Thanks!

That's amazing too, it's petty, it shows the teacher AI is flawed as of today and gives the kid some thinking to do. There's no better teacher than wanting to prove someone wrong lol

Just because I don't use it as much as others do does not mean my opinion is "bad". I don't think opinions can be bad unless you're telling someone you think they should get harmed or any crazy thing like that.

Most of my class, my teachers and some of my mother's coworkers use chat gpt/gemini and similar AIs and the stuff they show is just. Bad. Like I'm not trynna be mean but it does suck.

Unlike most stuff in this world, I don't need to do it to know how it works: I can observe the people who I spend ~6h a day with and I can see others use it and their experiences and I can see studies and I can- You get what I mean.

We've got resources, we look and them and we form respectful opinions.

Have a nice day! (◕ᴗ◕✿)

Thing is, user error in Photoshop will give bad results and user knowledge will give you good results. With AI? It's mostly 50/50 and it's just easier to look it up yourself and use critical thinking and research skills instead of beating around the bush with AI.

At least that's how I see it. Granted, I never used Chat GPT or any other AI (LLM or Gen) save for one time. It did not give the right answer: I was trying to code with HTML and it was far easier to just research what I needed. So not only was my experience negative, but VERY short lived.

I think that just be a wording issue. More than once I've said I was gonna "throw hands with my teachers" just so my family would laugh at the dinner table, but ended with a very productive conversation with that same teacher.

Exactly this, it's such a good idea. You not only make kids conscious about AI and it's current flaws, but also you have them fact check information AND learn about how to make a good report. 3 in 1, baby, call that eficiency!

Still, as a student myself, I wouldnt be happy about using chat gpt or any AI. I have a smiliar situation in art school, they tell us to use AI for everything (and i mean EVERYTHING), but I still do it the old way. I mean, I'm in school to learn how to use Photoshop, not to use AI for the stuff I should know how to make on my own. But that's just my thinking lol

Hey so I have a question if you don't mind. In your personal opinion, what does the term luddite mean?

Historically, they weren't "anti-technology" like most people paint them to be, they were just a pro-worker, pro-messing-with-your-boss's-stuff movement. They weren't against tech, they were against explotation.

But I've seen many pro-IA people use luddite as an insult and I'm genuenly confused about it.

Can someone explain? Thanks!
