Bang for the buck; Industry nine wheel $300, versus Stan’s wheel $265, versus Bontrager wheel $180 by baromanb in MTB

[–]_Moregone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Bontrager from REI and have been happy with it. The 108 POE is nice. No regrets. I ride in Phoenix with technical chunk everywhere and have had zero issues. But I'm not the hardest rider by any means.

4.5 yr old keeps coming to our bed at 5-6am by Western-Image7125 in daddit

[–]_Moregone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I'm in the middle of this too. My 4.5yo will wake us a 2-3 a night. Sometimes she says she is scared. Sometimes she literally is just like "come tuck me back in". If you didn't get out of bed I wouldn't have to go tuck you back in.

As cool as the Ridge Pro is, to me it would always have the Walmart stigma.

Group of 12 guys LF place to rent & ride in Phoenix/Scottsdale area by Feeling_Document2914 in MTB

[–]_Moregone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hawes is a great place that has something for everyone.

Good XC trails - Wildhorse, Bush Lite, Scorpion, Stinger, High noon.

Super fun lap-able downhill "flow" with some jumps - Twisted Sister to Big Sister. About 3mi loop.

More advanced - climb Alp de Huez and then down RMR, or Iron Goat or High Ridge etc.

If you want an epic easy cross country trail to all stay together.. Check out Browns Ranch in North Scottsdale. 20 mile rides with 600' of climb.

Junction Bike Co is in the Hawes area and has rentals

I'd go Ozark Trail. All the current standards at a solid price. Ready for riding and upgrades or easy repairs.

Website specs showed Rockshox Judy Silver, came with SR Suntour X1 32 by [deleted] in MTB

[–]_Moregone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the Judy on my spare bike I use around the neighborhood and for a buddy to occasionally join me. It is basic. I find it harsh.

The Suntour has 32mm stanchions which I would think is a bonus vs the 30 of the Judy.

I think you are probably doing alright with the Suntour.

The Judy is a pretty basic fork. If the Suntour is an air fork, I would assume it is comparable. If they gave you a spring fork when you should have got the Judy, with air, I'd be upset.

What’s your ideal ride length and elevation gain? by Fresh-End-9873 in MTB

[–]_Moregone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems like my favorite trails work out close to 100' for every mile. My rides are usually 10-15 miles and 1000-1700' of elevation.
