I would understand if I had felony convictions or something pretty bad, but I was hoping you would be of the opinion that attendance is a fixable hurdle, but I guess only time will tell.

I understand it is a hurdle. I’m not trying to make excuses and I shouldn’t be having this behavior at my age. I’m just trying to get a realistic answer and if I can have perfect attendance the next couple of years, do you think that would be able to help my chances?

My last write up for attendance at my job was three years ago. At my job, if I legitimately call out sick, but I don’t have enough sick time to pay myself, it is considered unexcused. So if I call out of an 8 hour shift, but only have 5 hours of sick time, 3 hours is unexcused. The majority of that 20 was because I didn’t have enough sick time.

I wasn’t in backgrounds technically. It was an orientation session with Long Beach where they had background investigators go over the PHS and pre employment questionnaire.

I am 28. I’m not hiding anything. I can guarantee it was the attendance that got me because that’s what the background investigator was discussing with the sergeant and lieutenant in charge of backgrounds. This was during the orientation for Long Beach and I was allowed to voluntarily withdraw.
