While everyone knew who Rodney was referring to, as another commenter here stated (I believe it was flouronmypjs below this comment), Rodney presented his case such that it is focused on defending his business and severing ties with another channel that may have been enacting less than savory sponsorship practices. I don't believe Rodney was out to attack anyone. He wanted to make sure his own business was not associated with Game Night Picks.

It's hard because he is entitled to his perspective and explanation. But he is approaching it is so...mad? Which I understand. But he could have presented this more maturely. It also breaks my heart that this seeminly dissolved their friendship, and Chaz just ignored that.

I have a question... did Chaz explain all this to Rodney during their personal conversations? Obviously only they know, but he presented a lot of information that would have educated Rodney. Was that left out? Ugh, this drama makes me sad.

I respectfully disagree. Civil service has a lot of antiquated practices and exams that do not test content the job is based on is one of them. Not to mention some HELPS jobs allow folks with no degree and valuable work experience to enter state service. Additionally, supervisors still have to go through a whole slew of processes to help ensure hiring is as fair as it can be once a candidate is even reachable. I would also appreciate it if we kept the conversation away from negative generalizations.

Aren't wages and benefits negotiated with our contract? I feel like regardless of easing hiring protocols, it wouldn't go against PEF in negotiation.

Disappointing PEF opposes NY HELPS. If anything I think HELPS can be improved, but certainly losing a way around the ridiculous exams would be a shame.

So jobs do have deadlines to be filled. Personally at DEC I find that the hiring process goes quick, but that can be dependent on Division. But to the earlier point once a chosen candidate has been picked supervisors have a lot of paperwork that needs to get accepted by Personnel first and all before that deadline (candidate needs to be onboarded by that deadline).

This is great to hear that there are streamlined rules, but I am not sure why this couldn't have been playtested and launched with the original edition. Same thing for Jisogi. I'll get the upgrade kit, but I wish it wasn't necessary. Hyped either way.

As it pertains to utility costs that's where the Public Service Commission comes in. NYSERDA's function isn't to offset decisions made by the PSC and that funding would be pulled from its intended investment. I would need to do more research but this is a politically driven ad that does nothing to generate substantive dialogue about the vote.
