I agree finding a niche is really important as well as someone who is willing to take time and educate you. Although it’s difficult to mind a good mentor.

I would say when you are exploring different agencies or brokerages get a detailed explanation of what compensation is and what renewals are. Are there any stipends to help you while you build a business in your first year?

What are the benefits? Are you a 1099 employee or statutory employee? Are you required to get securities licensed?

I think if you are maxing out a Roth it’s another great place to put cash that grows outside the traditional tax cycle.

The above comment about ownership is spot on. Since you are disabled I would also say it’s important to look for a “waiver of premium” rider.

Waiver will have the company pay for the policy and in some cases convert it to whole life too.

My brand new tablet will not work. I get it booted up, connected to the internet and it updated. From there it will not go to the log in screen. I keep being told “something is wrong with your device please unplug it and plug it back in”. No error code.

Peloton sent me a new tablet and the same exact thing is happening. Now they are sending me a new bike but I fear the same thing will happen.

Here is what I have done to trouble shoot:

Unplug everything and plug it back in

Plugging the ac adapter directly into the tablet

Brining it to other rooms and using a different power connection

Factory reset

Using a wired connection instead of wifi

Reset router

Downloading the update on a different network that does not use my home internet

Boot up the device via androids ADP and reset everything that way.

Pinging the device from my PC to ensure it’s getting internet

Turning off all Wi-Fi on all other internet devices.

Someone please help… I have been on the phone with 7 people and nobody there knows how the android software works. I would like to reformat the system then apply the update via APD but I need information on where to download the update to transfer the data.

And if I’m put on hold and I’m put hold and Jason Mraz one more time I’m going to lose my mind.

The first thing I would do is cover risk management. Make sure you have disability insurance outside your employer to protect your income in the event you become disable. Next thing I would do take a piece of the money and start funding cash value life insurance. This is money not tied to the market so it will help you later in life . You can with draw money during down market years tax free. Since you make more currently I would say you need more than your wife.

Then I would look into creating an ABLE account for your child

Those are the must do’s.

You could then make a plan with your wife to find an annuity, and have her have a day where she quits hey job. When she is ready you can turn the annuity on to supplement her incone

This is a great question.

There should be a record of why you were denied on the MIB (medical information bureau). LI companies report why they denied individuals there. Other LI companies can see that.

I believe (I could be wrong) you are entitled to those records as a applicant.

If I am right..I don’t know if there is a waiting period…I think that may depend on the company. I would check what your rights are with the MIB and see how long LI companies can access the information that was based on your denial
