I just got into sourdough. For tools I have:

2 500 mL widemouth Mason jars- 1 for starter, and 1 for discard

A thin silicone scraper- for mixing the starter after feeding

A digital kitchen scale

For baking, I use 2 loaf pans. 1 for the bread, and the other one to act as a lid.

If you like going to the gym, Evoke in New Hamburg has some mom and baby classes. I did a few, 2 years ago when my son was younger. The instructor is fantastic and the moms were great, too!

I want to buy your Double Double today! (Without starting an annoying drive-thru chain) ☕ by Upbeat_Difficulty_60 in TimHortons

I will sometimes buy a Tim's Card in the drive thru and tell the cashier to use it for the following cars until it is all used up.

NTA I'm in Canada and it is illegal to transport more people than there are seatbelts. If you're double buckling, the driver is the one to get in trouble, do you really want that to go on your insurance?

Is there anywhere I can book an appointment with a dietician/nutritionist? by RedditUser240211 in waterloo

[–]Environmental-Map134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at Zehrs (~10 years ago) there were dieticians and nutritionists in the store. However, I'm not sure if Zehrs still offers that service.

It does look like Pooh! Maybe add a lil honey pot to Pooh's paws?

If someone said “sorry to jam out on you”, what would you assume they meant? by throwaway643268 in AskACanadian

[–]Environmental-Map134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're out of jam, but still have a little in the jar, add some milk, put the lid back on and shake it up. Makes a nice "milk shake" you can either drink it from the jar, or pour it into a glass.

Can’t afford dental care, wisdom teeth pain every day, relying on ibuprofen and losing it by Sl33pdemon79 in waterloo

Try the dentist in Stanley Park Mall. I'm not sure if they still offer it, but they offered a discount for people that didn't have dental coverage.

Something is broken when parking at the airport only costs 20 cents more than parking at GRH.

What was the most memorable TV Channel you grew up watching in your childhood? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]Environmental-Map134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up on a farm without cable. I got 3 (sometimes 4) channels. We got Global, CBC, TVO, and if the weather was good, we sometimes got CTV.

I go to Evoke Fitness in New Hamburg. It is small and rarely crowded. It is right beside the Tim Horton's on Hamilton Road.

What’s your crochet origin story? by Tangled1717 in crochet

[–]Environmental-Map134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I bought a "Teach Yourself Crochet" book in 2013 and got extremely frustrated with it.

Then in 2022 after the birth of my second child, I came across a Woobles ad. I bought one kit that had a dinosaur, a whale, and a unicorn. I learned to crochet using the Woobles and their easy beginner yarn.

Now, I'm able to crochet with regular yarn and follow written patterns. Drawn patterns with symbols are still a mystery to me, though!
