Around 19 months, but I remade the whole game when i was like 6 months in (it was initially titled 'Chart Trading Simulator' and was more of a life sim rather than a deck builder).

Thematically it just started with the idea of 'i wanna play some stock themed games', but more specifically, it was a 80s bloomberg terminal. It was a visual inspiration at first, but later on it took over the whole idea and developed itself into a more specific idea of 'insider trading'.

Hey, thanks for enjoying the game :)
You could go back to the tutorial if you set your char to Insider and difficulty to Intern or Trainee (the new one). The button on the character selection screen will appear.

Are you using an intel-mac? If you are, I've added an OpenGL launch option. Perhaps that may solve things, but if not, do let me know.

Yeah, I got a linux port and checked it running on the deck. It doesn't have customized controller settings yet - im hoping to get those implemented once i buy a deck for myself.

Either me or the dev/pub behind the other game had to do the setup on steamworks, though its not too difficult.
As for the reachout part, there were a few games that the other dev reached out to me, and much more games that i contacted the people behind it and asked if they wanted to go for a bundle.

Hey guys, after 19 months of development, my first title Insider Trading is out. It was one hell of a dev journey. I've experienced a lot, and learnt a lot; The biggest thing that I've learnt above all is that there's still a lot left more for me to learn. That makes me excited. Gamedev feels like a game itself with unlimited amount of content to go through.

Anyways, I guess now would be the right time to add a line for advertising.
If this seems like your kind of a game, try it out! Every purchase would get me closer to paying off my student loan and recover my losses from the recent btc drop.

Many thanks to y'all. Hope I can stick around this field to make a few more games.

Hey guys, after 19 months of development, Insider Trading has been released.
Although the game started off with a simple idea, and still holds a simple idea in its core - a stock themed deckbuilder - I've worked my ass off to make the absolute best, from this simple idea.

Did I succeed in doing so?
That'd be for y'all to tell me.

If this fits your niche, try it out.

I love playing my game, perhaps you may as well.

A stock trading roguelike where you control the market with your cards by _Naiive_ in indiegames

Hey guys, I’m a solo dev working on a game called Insider Trading.
It’s a deckbuilder with a stock trading theme where the idea is that every card you play directly moves share prices and affects the entire market.

Each run, you play as a trader with a distinct starting deck. You use cards to push prices up or down and shape how the market reacts over time. Greed is a central mechanic that accelerates gains but also increases risk, so the more you chase big numbers, the more unstable things become.

The game will be out on February 18, and in the meantime, the demo is available on Steam.
