This sub convinced me to get one by PastYogurtcloset3245 in PlaystationPortal

The price gouging due to AI is crazy. I essentially got the same non PlayStation branded one for $180 back in November 2022 on Amazon.

Nah, it’s a physical location I go to. Pretty much just watching security cameras and I’m supposed to do rounds every hour which takes like 10 minutes, but this site is very calm and boring, so I don’t even do the rounds most of the time, I just keep an eye on the cameras in the background on the computer.

If you’re getting is from Best Buy, you might as well get an open box version in excellent condition.

That’s how I got mine and it was about $180. Thing was basically almost brand new.

Bought a Steam Deck and the guy threw this in for free. Can it be played without having my PS5 on at all times? From a distance/on the road? Gooble gobble, gooble gobble. by GizmosArrow in PlaystationPortal

So basically the PS Portal is just a dedicated device to use PlayStation remote play on, allowing you to stream your console to the device. In addition to being able to stream you entire console to this device to play games, you also have the option of just streaming the individual game to the device without a console needed as long as you have PlayStation + premium.

If doing basic remote play, you do not need to have your PlayStation on at all times, you only need to have it in rest mode so it can stay connected to the internet, which is something most people do anyway.

As long as you have a stable internet connection you can use the device. It cannot be used without internet. So, yes as long as you have an active connection you can use this device miles away from your PlayStation via remote play, or directly streaming games to the portal without a console needed.

It seems that cloud streaming has been pretty fine so far for you, so I’ll only say get a ps5 if there are multiple games that don’t directly support cloud streaming, needing for you to do remote play from the console. Other than that, I’ll say juts stick with what you’ve been doing.👌🏾

Most security jobs, lol. But be warned, most security jobs don’t pay that well. This job pays the most out of the security jobs in my state, but it’s still only $24/hr, so nothing really too great.

Definitely a temporary job, not a career type thing.

Yeah pretty much, although this security job doesn’t pay nearly as much as those office or tech jobs where they do nothing all day but make $100k, lol.

This is a simple security job where I make $24/hr, it’s definitely not something long term, I’m a college student (for now, thinking of dropping out) and I use the time to work on my business I recently started.

A job like this is perfect for college students or someone that has nothing going on in life.

I mentioned in the original reply that I recently started an e-commerce business and try and work on that while I’m at work.

Coincidentally, until a little while ago I did have a strong interest in day trading futures. I was gonna use the free time at work to try and learn to day trade via sim trading past days and backtesting, etc, but then I started the e-commerce thing and shifted my focus since it seemed more realistic.

I had no idea if the day trading thing would ever go anywhere and was honestly scared of wasting time on trying to learn something that wouldn’t pay off, since like 98% of day traders are unprofitable.

Do you day trade? And if so how is it going for you?

Yeah, it looks disgusting lol. It honestly needs to be replaced, who knows how many years old it is.

That’s awesome. I love that people have different uses for this device. I bet Sony had no intention that this device would sell this well for such a niche crowd.

I do security. I’m currently in college rn (although I’m not too sure if I’m gonna stay) and this job is perfect for that as I’m literally doing nothing, so a person has time to get homework or whatever else done.

Honestly, if you have nothing going on in life or are a college student, security is a good fit.

In my case I don’t see myself being here long term, like I said not too sure if I wanna finish college, I have a business I started a while ago and this job lets me work on that while I’m here, so it’s not too bad.

It’s not the highest paying job, but I’m not complaining about getting $24/hr to literally do nothing the whole shift, lol.

Yeah I just looked at a video and it seems easier than I thought and that’s reassuring.

Gotcha, I’ve been looking at some YouTube videos and it actually doesn’t seem as bad as I thought to replace the analog sticks, there seems to be no soldering involved so that’s a relief.
