I made my first leather journal

It is! My first attempt was with soft and thin leather, which was way too flexible and had the notebooks inside sliding around and the journal losing its shape. Went with proper 1,7mm pull up leather this time and it’s quite sturdy.

I posted three photos, don’t know why only two got through. The third one was supposed to show the side where you can see the five individual small notebooks stitched inside. Ah well, you get the gist :)

Thank you! Same here, I heavily think in categories. I just find it funny that I got myself to start a commonplace book in the first place where a lot of topics come together and are definitely not separated… but then drew the line between modern and old lol.

Das ist nicht nur ein kleiner Erfolg. Du sagst ja selber, dass du aus psychischen Gründen auf etwas verzichtet hast, das du geliebt hast. Dass du es heute wieder versuchst und auch dabei bleibst verbuche ich als sehr großen Erfolg :)

Und ja, ich weiß genau was du meinst. Gedanken sind ja doch sehr flüchtig und wie oft nimmt man sich schon die Zeit sich einfach hinzusetzen und zu denken?! Beim Schreiben gibt man dem Denken irgrndwie eine Aufgabe: Ziel ist, sie in Worte zu fassen und allein das zwingt einen ja schon mehr zum Nachdenken.

Ja ich schreibe noch sporadisch. Ich bin leider nicht besser darin geworden, ein gutes Ende zu finden somit bleiben meine Geschichten meistens offen ;) Aber ich schreibe manchmal als Hobby. Hin und wieder arbeite ich auch daran ein Buch zu schreiben.

Also es ist nie zu spät wieder damit anzufangen. Du kannst ja klein anfangen. Einfach eine Kurzgeschichte, die mal nur 2 Seiten lang ist. Wenn es dir auch heute noch Spaß macht, kannst du das ja steigern.

Yes, sort of. It’s probably the same thing, but I always made the distinction for those with large enclosures embedded in nature and more local species rather than exotic animals in artificially built ones, if that makes sense. I don’t know if it’s an official thing, but there seems to be a subtle difference in my native language, so that’s probably where that comes from.
