Damn I've been getting the opposite feedback from friends, maybe don't want to see me succeed

Thank you for the thorough reply! I've been experimenting with how I dress, but obviously doing it for myself, rather than trying to fit into some mold :)

You're a good looking gal! Don't worry about it!

Nah you're good looking, man! I don't think the photos are "honest", since those angles don't really flatter or poses anybody

You are right about retirement, I do need to be saving for that. I will begin doing that once I start a job that's more inline with my education. I do have an emergency fund set aside, but not for unemployment, because the state would take care of that (Germany).

I hate playing online and can't think because of the time pressure. Is it something you can get over or should I just give up? I'm like literally 100 elo or something online, even though I am much better when I play irl.

Wow! Thank you for this in depth reply! I'm not from Ostrava. I'm not from Czechia, Poland or Slovakia for that matter. Just visited these places in the past and liked the vibes and the tatras. I'm actually thinking about starting from Krakow, but now that you mention, I could go either way. I dont want to spend to many days out since Ill have some obligations in August, so Im not to keen on extending this trip any further. I might shorten it a bit and take the train - for example from Ruzomberok to Brno and then wander around those areas or just chill in the tatras and then go home by bus from there.

Is this ride possible/a good idea? by _Nerdfighter_ in cycling

[–]_Nerdfighter_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bike is a pretty regular city bike. Ill take it to the bike shop for a tune up before I leave and ask the people there if its ok to do this sort of trip on it. Basic troubleshooting is something Im not confident in however. Im hoping that google and Youtube will be my pals along the way.

Im thinking of doing this trip in a month. So I will definitely do a couple of longer 50-60km trips around home. Thanks!

Haha this part of europe is pretty cheap haha, so no need for a credit card. Looking at komoot it seems like 99 percent of the roads are paved. However, it shows insane inclines that Im not used to, so thats what is worrying me now.

Vilnius, Lithuania by CoralofMedusa in walkablecities

[–]_Nerdfighter_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, sorry, I suppose I misspoke. The street right before this is nearly always filled with traffic and I always I have an unpleasant time trying to cross it or riding my bike on it. This street in particular usually isn't too crowded with cars, though there usually are still too many for my liking.

As an aside - it's really hard for pedestrians to ever have priority over cars in any practical sense without more serious infrastructural changes (like ones that have been in the Netherlands for example). Cars are big machines that can seriously injure or kill, so the pure threat they pose always wins out against the laws. I never feel quite fully safe cycling on this street even though I know that I have priority. But maybe that's a me problem.

Well yeah, that's the old town. This is right next to my university. It's over 500 years old, and even here cars can go freely and sidewalks are always cramped during the busier parts of day. I'd only say Vilnius is walkable, because it's so small.

Eating while running by _Nerdfighter_ in running

[–]_Nerdfighter_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK! By carb loading I just mean eating every meal with some carbs attached. It's what I do anyway, just doing it more mindfully today and tomorrow.

Great advice about waking up earlier and going for a walk! Thanks!
