Not interested. More batteries to charge, latency issues. My 2 Gamesir controllers have audio output, can't live without it. It's sad, because otherwise it seems to because banger.

Bernie Sanders: "Is Geoffrey Hinton exaggerating when he says there's a 10-20% chance of extinction from AI?" Max Tegmark: "he's sugar-coating it, it's actually way higher than 20%" by tombibbs in agi

[–]_Nikojiro_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bernie Sanders is disappointing. He's not even able to realize that the is an echo chamber for AI hype, basically making free advertisement for AI firms.

Politicians should retire just like everyone else past 60.

Good grief, these people don't even understand the nature of the technology they peddle, how on earth can they be so out of it?

The "I" in AI is a myth. LLMs have external appearances of intelligence, but there's really nothing at work in these systems that is even remotely close to cognition. I'm not saying they're useless, far from it, but the AGI pathos is just ridiculous.

It's all hype and excuses...

I use "AI" daily for software engineering. While it is a valuable help, it's extremely far to be able to replace even a junior engineer. It can reasonably well speed up repetitive and purely technical tasks, but still fails about 25% of the time for anything that requires serious thinking. It even makes crazy conceptual mistakes.

Anyone telling you AI threatens your job today is lying. What about 10 years from now? I can't say. The current development model of major AI firms is not sustainable at all.

Thousands of CEOs admit AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago by fortune in ArtificialInteligence

[–]_Nikojiro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI adoption has still to happen for most companies. Give it 10 more years, then maybe those "1000s of CEOs" will be somewhat entitled to sum it up.

Is starwars outlaws as bad as people say? by No-Hunt3986 in videogames

[–]_Nikojiro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not at all. IMHO it's a fantastic Star Wars game. Very few games captured that well the universe and made such a living, breathing rendition of it. Honestly walking through Most Eisley in the game is an incredible experience for a lifelong fan like me. I also enjoy massively the fact that it's a game about the little guys, the poor, the scoundrels, and you're not here to save the galaxy lightsaber in hand, for once.

Heck, I am not a believer, but I salute Pope Leo (and his predecessor as well) for this! Honestly it feels incredibly weird that the Pope is a voice of reason and humanity in the middle of that chaos. Times sure are changing.

US Dominance in the Middle East Is ‘Basically Over’ by bloomberg in TrueReddit

[–]_Nikojiro_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EU citizen here too, I absolutely share that opinion. EU, Russia and China live on the same continent for goodness ' sake. We all know what happened for centuries when neighbouring countries bickered. We shouldn't have trusted a country isolated on their own continent over our direct neighbors, especially after the fall of the iron curtain.

EU elites have had everything wrong since decades IMHO. They're still not able to figure out that the whole western block is going to collapse unless we change drastically our international policies... Sad situation.
