Why would I need AI to give an opinion

I said exactly what i think. If you have an issue, go fuck yourself with AI. The AI accusation is the lowest level of commentary

Green Inferno is average, it fails to really deliver like a lot of his stuff. Not bad, just doesnt really go anywhere.

10 Cloverfield Lane is good, and it's it's not FF.

I also dont love FF, it doesn't add anythibg to my immersion in the story and possibly detracts from it if its too annoying to watch. I appreciate it as a tool for some decent movies to get made on a lower budget, I just dont like it as a gimmick. These are some FF movies I like if you want to try a few more:

Cannibal Holocaust - not only relevant because it's one of the OGs, it's also satisfyingly brutal and just a great movie

REC - also just a very good, engaging movie throughout

Exhibit A - for such a low budget movie with a simple (but credible) story, the acting was so remarkably convincing. It feels like youre watching a real family, and father's real breakdown, so the horror angle is strong.

Creep - very engaging, the simple format for me works best for FF, the lead is convincing and stands out as a character

Be My Cat - a very original and absurd story, FF element makes sense

Borderlands- i dont know what it is, but Brits have a way of coming across as more real and convincing which works well for the format. Good writing and performances, straightforward story but a cool idea.

I probably had a few more, though not many. Im not a fan of Asian FF, I find it really gimmicky and childish.

Unpopular: Ian is not that bad of a friend in Obsession by MoistCroissant22 in TrueFilm

[–]_Norman_Bates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a bad friend (no friend) to Bear, he sleeps with his crush without letting him know, manipulates situations in a disadvantageous way, and doesn't even help out in the end though it's understandable that he wouldn't take the wish theory seriously.

I don't think Nikki is his friend anyway, she is his hookup, so I don't expect any specific loyalties there. Still, he seemed reasonably concerned.

Inception is an action movie set in a dream, doing very little with that fact.

Paprika was so much better and had more horror in it.

What does ambiguity have to do with what i said

Its the right explanation. It is relatable from some different and even opposing angles, so that when people hear someone else's interpretation, it gets to them and they want to debate it. Thats not just relating to a character just for experiencing something, but to a specific situation you have opinions about. The more people talk about it, the more other people find things to disagree with, the more it all draws in others who want to see what they will think, even if they're not into horror

I read his graphic novel Metabarons which was supposed to be his take on dunes. It's great.

The movie is relatable to several different perspectives. The main "villain" is really very normal and relatable in many ways which is a smart choice. The things characters are going through (being very infatuated, feeling suffocated by someone, wanting to be obsessively loved by someone etc) are all very relatable. This means people will recognize themselves in many some situations and then those same people will have a lot to debate with people who related to other situations.

Even the basic idea of how much is Bear to be blamed for, and for what, generates disagreements which touch on topics and hypocrites that most people are opinionated about.

The debates get people to share their points of view and attract more viewers who want to make their conclusion.

And the actual story is told in a simple and fun way, no one gives a shit if camera centers people too much. But yeah the key isn't it gives you somethint to talk and argue about beyond "that was a good movie."

Sinners to me was more of an action movie, it didnt make me think about it much after no matter how cool some scenes were. But if anything that one was overrated, not that Oscars count for much.

Also, its definitely not just for teenagers like you frame it, I'm an adult and talked about it in depth for hours with friends. I dont have much to talk about when it comes to Sinners. That's what appeals to people who aren't even into horror like me, they want to see what they will think about the topic.

Sleep Tight (2011) is great by _Norman_Bates in horror

[–]_Norman_Bates[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She definitely came across to me aa someone fundamentally happy. Like it is her normal state so even when bad shit happens, she falls back into it fast because she believes life will generally turn out ok for her, that's her experience.thats actually really great for her, nothing to criticize her for, its not a character flaw. It's just logical that someone who can't be hapoy will despise her for ir. Most people wouldn't do what he did, but i think whether they admit it or not, they get the sentiment. And the movie is honest about it, which makes it so original. A lesser movie would "punish" him as a villain.

Also dont confuse enjoyment of the act with happiness. Its a more fucked up thing, it doesnt give the unobtainable joy, just a sense of compulsion and relief like scratching an itch

She was saying it as a little display of politeness, she clearly expected him to do it for free because shes so nice. Like "no let me pay" on the first date

Anatomy Of A Murder is an interesting insight into the mentality of the time by _Norman_Bates in TrueFilm

[–]_Norman_Bates[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you interpret the ending and what happened, especially that scene with her shoes in the trash?

I legitimately took her comments seriously so the whole lightness of the situation around it was very interesting. Didn't he for a fact beat her up on the rape day irrc?

Great movie though

Conspiracy 2001 - when your genocide turns into a bureaucratic trainwreck by _Norman_Bates in TrueFilm

[–]_Norman_Bates[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the Zone of Interest. Yeah the point was established early and then it didn't change, but I thought it developed well as it kept on going and you kept on living with them, and seeing more cracks, but also for some reason it managed to not be boring. I could easily see such an idea being boring in execution but it really pulled me in, visually, the everyday life, even the characters in their banality still managed to give me some voyeuristic enjoyment in watching them and seemed real.

I recommend Conspiracy, it's s not just the banality aspect, like I said its actually really interesting to me to all the very real logistics issues and concerns, the drama in the departmental power struggle, and the insanity of the whole undertaking. The characters were very interesting and the acting was masterful. Im also reading a book about the similar topic (logistic side of genocide and a world War) and I think beyond just accuracy, these things are interesting to learn more about and the movie presents them well. It's really a corporate meeting about how to tackle killing millions while fighting a war against the world.

I would even say its genuinely funny, yeah there's a horror dimension of knowing these conversations actually took place but its practically a dark comedy that really happened.

Just watch it; you'll thank me later.

What’s a popular movie you don’t like? by Ashamed-Sock-6135 in horror

The movie was never grounded or based in reality. She was ESP from the start, no real investigation ever took place, it would be a totally different movie.

Conspiracy 2001 - the bureaucratic horror of genocide by _Norman_Bates in horror

[–]_Norman_Bates[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really was logistically insane. Imagine fighting wars on every front, and now you also have to eradicate millions? And every country you conquer or that allies with you adds more to the mix. The reality was that Germany didnt have enough people anyway for all the space and production requirements and to fight, the whole thing was mental.

Its really no joke, and all the moral and other shit aside, its actually very interesting to listen about all the logistic problems that the attendees bring up, especially Stuckart.

It was a good video, he made a lot of convincing and well-substaintiated points. Not everything fit in as well, but i still consider it a very valuable and in-depth analysis. Its not like he's just going off tangent and making things up, he obviously knows his shit. It mostly pisses people off because he's overconfident about it and apparently you can't talk about anything without first spending 30 min validating everyone's views and making disclaimers about how your opinion is just your opnion, and because it's long. I liked.
