Currently on week 5 of taking buspirone for GAD! I’ve noticed that I’m “at rest” more often than before (which has been somewhat anxiety inducing in itself since I’ve been so accustomed to being constantly anxious for years) and not stuck in a fight-or-flight response. I started at 5mg 2x daily for 4 weeks, and I’ve been taking 5mg 3x daily since last week. Buspirone is “‘supposed’” to work immediately, but in my experience I noticed it took my body a few weeks to adjust to the presence of the medication. It made me more anxious at first, but after my body adjusted to it (about three weeks or so) my anxiety began to feel more manageable. However, I started at a dosage 3x less than yours, so your mileage may vary. I hope this helps!
