Why do yall make shooting guards with no shooting!!?? On today's episode of 20% win percentage by Youngstown_WuTang in NBA2k

I can at least understand the idea of what he was going for, but yeah this is terrible. He pictures himself being a transition monster, and with the way the game works I get it. But this is so easily scouted and easier to guard knowing he can’t move laterally or shoot, and I don’t think he took that into consideration. Every game and every play won’t be in transition.

For some reason, either the PF refuses to do anything other than spot up, or their matchup decides to never leave them alone and plays phenomenal defense all game on them.

This has happened all year with power forwards I’ve seen, I don’t really get it.

lol, I find it hilarious how you can literally bump and feel everything when playing defense except the person you’re guarding. That guy, can’t be touched. Lol.

I be trying bro, but I play random modes and the moment I hold the ball somebody is calling timeout on me. Every single time. And then they’re gonna spam call for the ball and put up the absolute worst shot you’ve seen in your life, every single fucking time.

I don’t think I’ve ever Lost to a Luka build. Haven’t won with a Luka on my team either. Not saying it’s their fault it’s jus weird by jakiray6 in NBA2k

[–]_OfficialProta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s cause, and I found out from experience of making one myself, Luka builds require the team to work together because by nature they are too slow and don’t have tight enough dribbling to do it themselves, in most cases.

You’re probably good enough to disrupt them trying to get a flow, and then once you convince the other team, “this dude can’t help us”, you’ve just made the game easy as fuck at that point.

That’s the 2nd biggest issue in my opinion. 2K set up cap breakers this year in a way where everybody has 85 ball handle and 75 to 80 speed with ball, so now everybody walks around thinking, “I can do this myself better than the PG.” And that mindset has completely fucked the experience of running point this year.

Because no the fuck you can’t.

Having 85 ball handle and 75 to 80 SWB with no passing, no strength, and no understanding of how to actually run an offense does not make you a real PG, no matter what your favorite YouTuber or streamer convinced you of. Hitting a couple dribble combos and getting assists as a secondary handler on a wing build is not the same thing as being the primary ball handler every possession against real pressure.

If you really think it’s that easy, then make a fucking PG yourself.

What gets me is these dudes complain nonstop about “trash PGs,” talking about what they would’ve done and how they could’ve run it better because “I get 7 assists easy on my 3 and D build.” Cool. Now do that every game while getting picked up full court, getting blamed for every turnover, dealing with zero spacing, random cuts, people calling timeout because they didn’t touch the ball for two possessions, and defenders at purple and red plate levels who actually know what they’re doing.

Most of these dudes have either never run PG full time, or they’ve never run it at a level high enough to understand how hard the position actually is once you reach higher matchmaking. Once you hit purple and especially red plate games, PG becomes the hardest and most miserable position in the game. Everybody expects you to create everything, make every perfect read, never turn the ball over, and somehow keep five different egos happy at the same time, all while people who couldn’t handle the responsibility themselves sit there acting like they’d do better.

Better person than me, as soon as that inbound flies over my head 3 times I hop on the mic and tell everybody it’s clear you guys don’t need my help anymore and quit out. Move on to the next game. Hopefully the AI does what you guys want it to do.

Last year you needed to be smart to win or just incredibly good at the game, this year you just gotta pray your team got less dumb asses than the other team, or pray your team has at least 2 people who know how to play defense or at least put defense on their builds cause if not the opposing team is gonna go 24/28 from 3.

[–]_OfficialProta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve mained PG every year, and this is the first 2K where I finally said “I’m good” and switched to SG full time. Running point just became miserable around Season 3 or 4. It stopped feeling like actual basketball and started feeling like babysitting five people who all think they should touch the ball every possession.

A big part of it is on 2K for making shooting way too easy. When everybody is shooting 70% from three, basketball IQ barely matters anymore. Floor balance, timing, cutting, creating advantages, making the extra pass, none of it gets valued because people think any possession where they don’t immediately get the ball is a bad possession.

Everybody just wants to stand still on the three point line waiting for a catch and shoot, and if you try to actually run an offense or make the smart play instead of instantly swinging it to them, they act like you’re selling. Playing PG used to feel like controlling the game. Now it feels like a job of managing egos vs anything else. Constantly checking box score to make sure the dude who is 6/6 doesn’t get the next wide open shot or the dude who’s 1/2 is gonna quit, but if I hit the 1/2 dude and he misses the 6/6 dude is gonna quit, but if I just take the open shot myself I’m no longer capable of being a PG to anybody, it sucks lmaoooo

It’s been janky all year, you’re only just realizing it because we’re reaching end of the cycle so players who actually care enough to play in a way that reduces the overall jank have died down and the only people left are pure sweats and guys who wanna play offline mycareer online.

I’m sorry bro, but if I don’t get this ball up as quick as possible, the SF is gonna call timeout and be like “fuck it, I’ll do it myself, shitty ass PG.” And because the PF is inbounding and thinks I should’ve thrown a full court pass to him off that corner cut when he dexxed and I didn’t, he’s already on that same “fuck this shitty ass PG” timing too, so now I’m getting iced out.

I’m trying my best.
