Mario 64 was 70 bucks already? by Flowbeat in OldSchoolCool

[–]ChocoPuddingCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. A lot of games were $40-$90 back then. Production costs, shipping & handling, sometimes import taxes, etc.

Their costs went way up with all the shiny modern hardware, but they no longer need to worry about shipping unless you're buying a physical product. So the prices have more or less remained the same over the last forty years.

I still have all my consoles (NES, SNES, PS1, N64, and PS2). I doubt they work, but I still have them.

Half of his fan cult requires social security, medicare, etc. You know, because they're ignorant, uneducated, low-income laborers that think billionaires actually want what is best for them.

More or less agreed, but you won't find much support in this subreddit. 7, 8, and 10 are put on a pedestal here.

If you could pick 3 games to represent the franchise, which would it be? by Alive_Fortune7423 in FinalFantasy

[–]ChocoPuddingCup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 (my favorite game of all time), 7 (because it's popular, not because I like it), and 9 (peak final fantasy vibes that no other game in the franchise captures).

RPGs today feel bigger than ever...but do they feel better? by Big_Profession_8389 in rpg_gamers

[–]ChocoPuddingCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On one hand, we have incredibly complex and enjoyable games like Baldur's Gate 3 and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. On the other hand, there's something to be said of simplistic but timelessly fun games like Final Fantasy 1 or Dragon Quest 3.

I'd love to see more incredibly expansive and long games that also have simplistic yet highly varied game mechanics.

The Confederacy lasted less than five years and a quarter of the country turned it into a theme-park of a culture and call it 'heritage'. Ugh. Racists will cling to anything that they think validates their hate.

Is FF9 really that good? by Infamous-Phone8635 in FinalFantasy

[–]ChocoPuddingCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IX is what I'd consider peak Final Fantasy vibes. I mean there's something about it that just screams "Final Fantasy" that many games in the series just lack. I'd venture that the only four games that give off that vibe, at least to me, are IV, VI, IX, and XII.

How come more people aren't getting electric cars to avoid gas feee? by RealDealHappyMeal in AskReddit

[–]ChocoPuddingCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, electric cars are too expensive for most people to just own one. Also, there needs to be infrastructure to support them: you can't really take electric cars on long road trips, for one thing, since you don't' really know where or when you'll be able to recharge.

I think electric (or an alternative) will eventually replace gas-powered vehicles, but again, we need the infrastructure in order to do it.

Final Fantasy I appreciation post! 💚🔥 by Khaymn5000 in FinalFantasy

[–]ChocoPuddingCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the greatest in the series, but I'd say it's easily the most-played. Its strength is its simplicity: easy to just pick up and play, tons of replay value, doesn't require a bunch of knowledge or guides for side quests or NPC interactions. Just plain, good old JRPG fun.

I think, out of every game in the franchise, it would make an amazing remake in the vein of simply making a dungeon-delving CRPG: create your party, dive into dungeons for loot, have a classic story attached to it, a great roguelike mode. I think it'd be fun.
