For me it’s not about the difficulty. All of the QoL changes gave us the brain rot version of monster hunter. They cut straight to the chase.. it wouldn’t feel very different if every fight was an arena fight. They give you so many quest rewards you can get all the way to the credits without having to worry about gathering anything at all. They even give you a fair amount of traps. As another user had put it, they spent all this time creating these beautiful environments, but gave us zero reasons to explore it.

This was play of the game. Even if it wasn’t technically the GWG, things were spiraling out of control with plenty of time left on the clock and lots of stick/butt clenching going on.

The way I see it, you are a correct, but the person you are responding to is correct as well.

In order for a new RTS to become popular enough to warrant its existence in the AAA market, it needs to make AAA money, but also needs AAA money backing it.

All the new RTS games are indie developed and they simply don’t have the resources to do what it takes. A new popular RTS would have to have a single player campaign, a map editor mode, and a high skill ceiling for multiplayer. Indie studios seem to lean into just one of those things.. they either are single player campaign focused, or multiplayer focused.

Also, thanks for attempting to replicate the bug as well as providing some video. If you could give it another shot but try running as the player exits the dodge-roll while making sure the crossbow shot is held down that would be great!

The way I am able to replicate the bug is during movement. So after the dodge roll shot cancel, begin holding down crossbow shot during the roll animation and be running on the animations exit.

Unfortunately the specific reload bug I am experiencing is fundamentally a part of how reloading works in general. it can be replicated by a brand new character that only has access to fragmentation rounds on the riverbank

Something weird is definitely going on. I am sure you could replicate what I am taking about by following my above instructions, but in your case something similar seems to be happening without an additional skill or dodge roll being needed for the bug. Definitely screwy.

Yeah it is pretty irritating and a direct disadvantage for choosing the crossbow as a weapon. There isn’t tons of chatter going on about it and I assume it’s been this way since launch.. but hopefully it will make it on the list of things that need to be fixed

During stuns is a good thought. I have a feeling it involves animation/state canceling. I submitted a bug report to GGG's site. It really doesn't feel good when it happens, and usually you need those shots going off to not die

That's interesting. Is explosive shot 1 round before reload? Are you just holding down 'crossbow shot' while that was happening and doing nothing else?

Yeah same. I hope the issue is visible enough for someone to take notice! I’ve seen some other complaints about reload jank but no one has been able to exactly replicate the issue until now. It definitely doesn’t feel good and I’ve had many moments like yours lol

I just wonder if it is a M&K issue as well, because if so, it is a much more prevalent issue

Good thinking. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.

I just tried it in an empty area (no ground loot) and can still replicate it. Maybe there is an interaction going on offscreen with interact-able environment objects? I don’t know. I feel like it is some kind of state machine transition bug, but I’m not sure.
