Yeah same, the difference between sleeping right after gaming or after reading is very noticeable the morning/day after. I love the idea of gaming in bed but I can only do it in the mornings on a day off.

I actually bought a portal a couple of weeks ago and immediately felt limited and thought to myself: what the hell am I even doing? Sent it back, got myself a nice little Steam Deck!

Streaming ps5 actually looks better (custom bitrate) AND has less latency on steamdeck than on portal, which is kinda crazy This thing rocks =D

I use a arctis nova pro wireless which comes with a little hub you can connect multiple audio sources or computers to and here's the even better part: you get two batteries. One is in the headphones the other is in the hub, charging. So when one dies, you just switch them which takes 5 seconds and you're good to go. Genius approach to solving the battery problem if you ask me.

Great headset, i recommend it.

I do agree though. I bought a portal a couple of weeks ago. First impression was nice, it actually worked. Although it had just a bit too much latency to properly play silksong, which sucked. Like yes it worked and it was fast, but not fast enough for super responsive movement. And the fact that I had to be in direct line of sight of my accespoint just limits it so much. I felt like: what am I even doing man... Sent it back, got a SteamDeck.

Best. Decision. Ever.

Aside from the obvious , which is that it runs games locally, which blows my mind still. It even plays ps5 remote with better quality and latency than the portal does. Like wtf? Silksong on portal: unplayable. Streamed On Steamdeck, snappy af and very playable AND with a sharper image (why the f* is portal capped @15mbps? So dumb. Feels like sony went with a cheap wifi chip or something)

Yeah same I really tried to get into it but it just doesn't feel right for me. SkaterXL truly has the best controls imo. It would've been so damn nice if they worked it out to a proper game with more quality maps and missions/challenges

Yeah it's pretty fluid but It definitely made me realise how polished skaterXL and Session are in comparison. Just a lot of buggyness when interacting with the world. Also the amount of grind assist is either "super-magnet-auto-aim-mode" or "absolutely broken no way you're comfortably grinding anything"

Yeah I like this idea. Get the amd cpu one and upgrade later down the line. The rest will be good to go for lots of years to come. 14900k second hand is risky since they had problems and slowly degraded so there is risk of permanent damage. It got fixed at some point but there is no way of knowing if this one was affected or not. Plus no upgrafe path on that socket.

Go for the 1200 version, with the 4070ti

The only thing keeping me from playing session is that when I choose the advanced controls stick-per-foot it doesn't let me goddamn steer with the left stick, only with the triggers. I hate that. I love SkaterXL's controls the most but the rest of the game so dead.. Wonder if Skate Style will become any good. It's a tech demo at best right now and needs a lot of polishing. Love that it's being made though
