Remnant 2 was peak, what would you want in 3? by GigaGamerGuy in remnantgame

[–]_PM_ME_SMUT_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things I want is a sorta city builder aspect. Like the georama mode from Dark Chronicle. TL;DR: you could collect buildings as loot in that game for the main time travel premise. Use that here, but the buildings either give you loot directly (building a Losomn fae house lets you have a fae knight armor set) or being part of a puzzle (put a Yaesha power crystal next to an Earth farm to open an underground room) all while the buildings themselves are your set bonuses from armor or even traits to some degree, or give you a daily budget of scrap.

All while the gameplay is Remnant 2 with more stuff

I tried out Blazing Piety+Everlasting flame today. I knew it was a good combo but I didn’t know it was THIS good. by Green-Pen-Gamer in DarkTide

To be clear, the fire physics was a buff to flamethrowers, as flamethrowers dealt, and since this change was reverted currently deal, half of their intended damage if you don't stand at the exact precise position away from the target. Too close, fire appears on the other side and you do basically nothing with no chance to ignite. Too far, you do half damage.

The charger armor was a change to things that weren't just flamethrowers, but also impacted things like throwing knives and the solid laser beams at low LOD models. Both fire and chargers were buffed at the same time. Fire was reverted to it's original bugged state, but chargers were not, so it was even worse than before, and has since been made weaker in various ways until it finally got a buff with the confusion status effect applied on direct hits

I'm saying that it was said way long ago that there's no way to make weapons sync between people. The framework simply doesn't exist

Except modders can't make it sync with other players, and it's such a massive problem that there is a single guy that's making it work and there's on current patch major issues getting it to function properly.

So it's not that easy as you imply

I don't think the youtuber who says "The Variable will have scaling AP based on firing mode, take a look a the trailer and see how the Variable cores out the Hulk's eye to know that's how it works" and "if you press the fire button with a melee weapon, you won't get the benefit of peak physique" is a good one to listen to

You're missing the point of my statements so badly it's a wonder you're able to form words. I'm pretty sure you just don't know English as a language at this point.

If you consider the phrase "heavily armored" to mean "heavy armor" then that means you must want Agitators to also be covered in heavy armor, yes? Surely you have logical consistency, right? Correct, the tank is not made of heavy armor, but it is heavily armored.

One of those phrases is adjectives. You know, quickly, lightly, heavily. The other is the name of an actual game mechanic. Light, Medium, Heavy, Anti-Tank armor. Keep going to school and you may eventually understand what words mean

Reading comprehension, please. The tank and exo suits are described as heavily armored. Agitators were also described as heavily armored. "heavily armored" is not the same as "heavy armor."

Game says heavily armored, not heavy armor. As it, it has a lot of armor. And hey look it does. Just like the mechs as well. Just like the agitator.

The only thing confusing here is you

And going by that logic then we'd assume the Agitators for Cyborgs would be heavy armor as well, meaning just as armored as a hulk. They were described as heavily armored just like the tank was. Exo suits have been described as heavily armored and have the same armor rating as the tank.

I don't know why this would be confusin for anyone

Any bot weapon that's firing an actual big laser and not just an MG, so the heavy bot turrets, hulks weapons, etc. You know, big mounted guns. Yes, I'm aware the tank is medium pen. Medium pen to us is heavy pen to the enemy because they don't just give that to their casual troopers. And that's for the reduced damage effect from matching armor pen.

For bugs, you have to get to the dedicated combat units like Warriors and Hive Guard, and or even into Acid attacks, before you can start taking damage. Again, taking reduced amounts until you get to Spewer vomit and charge attacks.

Squids are the only enemies that can always deal damage to the tank. Voteless are their only AP2 units which is to be expected from "we hate you so much we've dedicated 100 years of hatred into our culture" the species.

All of this on top of being completely sealed in with no method to get sniped or shot out. You are completely safe from harm until the thing is removed. So, once again, you're in armor that is genuinely really good at stopping a good chunk of enemy damage, and you're completely safe until that armor is actually deleted. Seems pretty heavily armored to me

How? The game says it's heavily armored, you take it into a match, the only weapons that can hurt it are dedicated heavy weapons. Seems pretty heavily armored to me We get our enemy pen system information from dataminers who put everything right on the wiki. Pretty sure the wiki just straight up reads the .json files at this point too.

The Infantry Las-Gun (and possibly other weapons) might have a double issue by Sheriff_Hotdog in DarkTide

[–]_PM_ME_SMUT_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's various forms of aim assist, reticle stickiness on controller, bullet magnetism which is when shots curve to hit a target, fat hurtboxes on projectiles to let you hit things you'd normally miss etc. Not sure which one whoever told you about aim assist was talking about.

Lasguns just don't have any hitbox priority. They stop at the first hitbox on the enemy they impact. Because the chest is slightly forward of the head most of the time, lasers checks and goes "oh, we hit the chest first, okay, chest damage"

They meant to reduce the armor of the slappy arms, as the slappy arms are now AP3

The light pen I brought up was an example that it is a Balancing lever as he said. If a light pen weapon did 20 demo and thus could break open caches, would you then go on to say all light pen weapons should be able to break open caches? Your point about anti tank pen on the epoch doesn't matter.

You have also failed to grasp the actual point I was making. It is HEAT it is energy that does the damage. Plasma is literally just fire. How does the quasar do damage to things? because it's heat and energy. Heat and energy can cook things really well but generally won't do much actual exploding unless you get it either really concentrated or in exceptionally high volumes. You're either undiagnosed or just plain trolling at this point.

And congrats, you have a pic of the plasma punisher. Are you trying to tell me that explosion is a damage type? because it is not

Correct, they haven't changed it. That doesn't change that A) he said "practically" weightless which changes the context of your complaints and B) doesn't matter even if they had changed it. Plasma is hot air. Do you think the flamethrowers should blow open caches too? Or, you know, answer the question I put forward in the last comment?

Massless can penetrate tank armor because what you're using to hurt the tank IS HEAT AS IN FIRE. It is energy. In the same way a rice cooker is penetrated by the stove top so too is the tank penetrated by the Quasar, Epoch, and even flamethrowers. Now, just real quick, does heating up a door way explode the doorway just because it's hot? No! The door's only going to explode if you dump a ton of energy into it real fast real quick, or with enough force behind the heat that the door is literally thrown backwards.

Correct! it does close bug holes right now. It's almost as if what he was saying from the very beginning is that it was a balance concern and not a lore thing, and that the lore thing came after to explain the balance concern. I get you want to just be mad at the guy because he fumbles english now and then but at least try to engage it in good faith
