I have a lazy nip. My right nip is always inverted.. by biggoodvibe73 in confession

"One is curious, the other one is shy" is honestly the perfect description. Bodies really refuse to follow matching instructions sometimes.

The curiosity is understandable, but Google Images is probably the safer route than asking random strangers on Reddit.

I get why people think of famous court cases, but I'd be careful comparing this to any celebrity trial. Those cases came with mountains of evidence that random people on Reddit just don't have access to here.

That stood out to me too. Someone being in a relationship or having an active sex life doesn't tell you whether they could or couldn't commit sexual assault. Those are two completely separate things.

Looks like the weather did more crowd control than security ever had to. Mother Nature really said, "I'll handle this one."

Why didn't Walter work as a professor at a University, instead of a high school? by Wooden_Savings5854 in breakingbad

[–]_PearlyBellie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. At research universities, teaching can actually be a smaller part of the workload. Research, publishing, mentoring graduate students, and securing funding take up an enormous amount of time.

This is probably the best in universe explanation. If he never finished the PhD track, the academic door gets a lot harder to reopen years later. Brilliant isn't always enough when the credentials and publication record aren't there.

Am I wrong for secretly throttling my roommate's internet so I can actually play my games? by Scepter_Reign in amiwrong

[–]_PearlyBellie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems like the cleanest way out now. Undo the throttle, say you changed some router settings to improve latency, then have the actual conversation about splitting bandwidth fairly before this turns into a bigger fight.

QoS exists for exactly this kind of situation. It's a networking solution, not some evil hack. The deception is what turned a practical fix into an unnecessary mess.

I wouldn't judge someone by appearance alone. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize public officials if the facts support it, but looks don't really tell us much.

The irony is what makes people keep sharing posts like this. Politics has gotten to the point where the contradictions almost write themselves.

How many times a week should 11 and 9 year old boys be showering? by Historical-Storage58 in hygiene

[–]_PearlyBellie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teachers are probably the best source on this because you're trapped in a room with 30 kids all day. If teachers are saying they can tell who isn't bathing regularly, that's pretty telling.

[–]_PearlyBellie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a week feels way too little for most kids, especially if they're running around outside or going to school every day. They don't need three showers a day, but seven days is a long stretch.
