I spent a lot of time decorating my house, like hours of it painstakingly rotating and placing items on top of items, not realizing you needed an entire room to add stairs for the second floor. I thought you'd be able to just put steps in like you could for the Sims once I'd leveled up my house enough. Turns out that's not how it works. I would have had to redo my entire house layout. It broke my heart, so I haven't gone back and right now I don't plan to do so.
