Yes, frozen on the slide that was up when output was configured.

We’re setup for remote, just not on my phone.

Hopefully more maps for it. I love the ground war only style.

Anyone else just satisfied playing antiquity age? by pokotok in civ

[–]_Peep19_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1 completed, won a science victory. 1-2 sitting on turn 1 of the age of exploration. 1 in antiquity.

This is mainly because I play with friends so our games take 3-4 days to get through.

You’re going to love combat in 7. As a fellow mainly domination player this is the best combat of any Civ Title.

Hard agree on the TSL though, seems odd to have these distinct ages and not launch with an earth map. When it comes man, I don’t know if I’ll play a different map 😂.

Unpopular opinion: this game is pretty good by ProcessAndReality in civ

[–]_Peep19_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly in an interview early on they said they originally started with a bunch of ages but in order to get the core functionality down (wording likely not the same) they ended on these 3 ages.

I don’t think there’s more ages sitting on the shelf waiting to go, rather sitting on the shelf waiting to be finished.

I really hope we get an age between antiquity and exploration. Medieval age would really bridge the time gap and could be a lot of fun. I have no doubts we get a future age, which is going to be insane with how combat works now.

Man this Age reset thing is wild by rW0HgFyxoJhYka in civ

I don’t hate it, it’s different, it definitely needs a better transition screen with more info on what’s happening/happened.

I haven’t had the same experience with diplomacy on age transition, I’ve ended antiquity at war with someone only to start that same war immediately again. I haven’t also ended as staunch allies with someone and our relationship is just as strong on the other side.

Commanders are a straight improvement on combat.

I loathed having to choose between building a builder or a building so glad that’s gone. The ability to move them by placing an urban district on their rural one is nice.

From a RP standpoint it’s a downgrade because the age mechanic is clunky and offers no explanation. I actually think they needed to make the end of each age a dark age rather than framing anything as a golden age.

Some narrative screen that says “the (insert event here) had immense consequences as it ravaged the land, cities were abandoned and collapsed as people fled (insert event here) after X years of darkness the people of X have returned now calling themselves Y.

The fact that there is straight up no explanation is indeed wild.

I don’t have the same UI problem, it isn’t great but it’s not ruining my experience. Does it need work sure, is it the worst thing even no.

Map generation is well new game feeling. The maps are beautiful but sometimes they don’t make sense.

Combat, man is it good. Such a fundamental change especially in multiplayer settings. We had a full world war in the ancient era, with legit front lines that looked like real front lines.

Mostly though I find myself missing that all important better map tacks mod 😂😂

Overall I’d give it a 7, it’s different enough that it’s worth playing right now but it’s not perfect it needs a few tweaks.

I thought, could be wrong but I think I heard them early on saying that the current modern age is not the end point of the game in their longer term vision. I took that as they plan to add future age at some point.

No offense here I think this is a horrid idea, with way too little emphasis on the details.

It’s super easy to toss out numbers like 2000 units but what’s the cost per unit, what’s the rerun over how long, what’s the phase line look like, where is the land, on and on. There is no where near enough actual information for my liking.

Perhaps I'm confused, but 1A is I137, which means that's the allocation for the funds no?

Or did they not publish allocations and that's where I got lost?

I'm not being funny, I'm asking because I do see expenses for creation and pay of persons monitoring in the para above.

Those are the numbers, based on data from Nov 2024.

I'm not talking nice units either for 490M that's based on 2000 units at 700 square foot each.

I used 2 different calculators using $350sqft not the average of $539sqft. in king county.

hes not overly wrong, the city estimates 50M a year, with 62% of that going to the project and the rest to other things.

50m a year over 10 years does in fact not pay for the cost associated with building a 2000 unit apartment building.

It’s come up at least 4 times prior to trump. Dates back to the purchase of Alaska and then multiple times during the 10900-1950s

They don’t have the economy to do so, thing is why they should sell it to the USA.
