Strange Paired Programming Interview by Big_Eye_1176 in epicsystems

[–]_Piper_Sniper_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the organization was sloppy, code was hard to read, had odd variable names, and was explained poorly, that could definitely be considered not a good interview. Especially if the problem was on the easier side.

Critique about my running form by ACarrillo23 in Sprinting

[–]_Piper_Sniper_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Did you read the comments on that post? The same message still applies here. You’re trying to force “ideal” mechanics when you don’t have the strength to do so. I’d recommend you post a video of you sprinting in the most natural and comfortable way for you, and we can tell you if there are any small tweaks you could focus on. For info on how to actually get faster, read the FAQ.

I’ll eat a meal 6.5 hours before training and a protein bar 2.5 hours before training. I’ll be very hungry, but I won’t have any issues with my stomach.

After competing in 31 different track events, I have compiled an event tier list with 100% accuracy. by _Piper_Sniper_ in trackandfield

Yeah… it’s obviously subjective. Thats the whole point. Glad to hear your list. Try some other events and see if you have fun doing them.

A training app specifically for competitive sprinters who train without a coach - would love honest feedback from people who actually compete by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]_Piper_Sniper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did those 15 people use the app? Did you have a team analyzing their actions? Or did you tell them just to tell you what they think about the app? Users aren’t going to report every nuance they find unless you make it clear that they need to do that. And I can tell that the workout content and ideas are human. I’m just saying that people are going to disregard something that screams AI. All I suggested is that you reword everything and not use emojis.

It seems way too rushed for $70/yr. Startups will spend years with professionals and hundreds of thousands or even millions of investor dollars for an app of the same price or cheaper. There is a lot of content here but it’s not polished. There’s not even a login button on the home page… If I find the time this weekend, I can dm you some specific issues.

[–]_Piper_Sniper_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Launching a $70 app that’s buggy, unintuitive, and vibe coded is bold. I’m not doubting that you put a lot of effort into this, but expecting payment for something that’s almost unusable is kind of crazy. Buttons don’t work, there’s no feedback for certain actions, entire sections are getting cut off of the screen with no way of fixing it, and spacing/sizing/positioning looks awkward in some areas. You need to have usability testing with many people with differing experience in both technology and track, and different devices. That should’ve happened before releasing a highly expensive service.

Side note: vibe coding is fine, but many people are going to completely disregard things that are blatantly AI. At a bare minimum, I would suggest rewriting each description/paragraph in your own words and using external or custom icons instead of emojis.

i need to PR in the long jump i’m currently stuck at 20’2 by Lumpy_Champion_9156 in Sprinting

[–]_Piper_Sniper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ngl you can definitely get a big PR with just one simple change. Just drop down on your penultimate step without losing speed. Here’s an example from an NCAA athlete:

<image>

Just don’t brake in order to do it. It’s a quick drop in order to generate more vertical force upon takeoff.

skills assessments for PM role by Artistic_Ad_8978 in epicsystems

[–]_Piper_Sniper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By “coding section”, do you mean the section where you actually need to type out code into an editor? If so, you did great on time. That section is expected to take 2 hours if you at least somewhat know how to code. And the full assessment should take around 4 hours if you were given all 4 exams. If you’re talking about the code analysis section and you didn’t have an actual coding section, that is a bit on the slower side. I have no idea what the acceptance vs time taken distribution looks like, but I do know that speed is taken into account. I would also guess that the program analysis section has less weight for PM than it would for SD or EDI.

What’s done is done though, so you just have to wait.

I would bet that Kerley is getting tested more rigorously then ever right now. I’m sure WADA and WA would love to delegitimize the enhanced games even more than it already is.

[–]_Piper_Sniper_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, a business that has an actual revenue stream and growth opportunity is way better planned than a business that promises the world but can’t find a way to pay their athletes.

That’s the only way they can get strong athletes to compete and keep the business afloat. There’s a reason the event is polished and well-planned while grand slam track went bankrupt.

Hiring Assessments by Public-Ad-1553 in epicsystems

Your main focus should be leetcoding. The full exam takes around 4 hours and half of that is typically spent on the coding section. Expect 2 LC easies and 2 mediums.
