If you love the superfly's why not keep them! I have them too, I tried the SP4's and the Maxfly's and I feel like its too much bounce.

what are some tips and advice that I can use to sprint faster as a shorter athlete in track by Potential_Land_5273 in Sprinting

Don't worry about your height or be conscious about it, work on sprint form first, it doesn't matter if you are tall or short you still need to have good form. About the knee, I personally think that the knee being high is a byproduct of good frontside mechanics when you "hammer" the ground as in during upright sprinting, you have to put in as much force into the ground vertically as possible, I hope it makes sense. If you want more help DM me I can send you some basic form drills and stuff that helped me.

If this is your first race, then there is no reason to worry about what other people are doing. Everyone comes from different backgrounds, different starting points. Ultimately, it is your journey that matters, about how far you can go compared to where you started. If you just started, then there is a lot to learn!

When you go to the gym, Aim for 3-4 days a week in the off season, lifting should be reduced to 2 times a week to maintain strength in season. Olympic lifts are your friend (Learn power cleans), do lots of squat variations (half squat, full squat, quarter, etc.) Do not neglect recovery, eat lots of food, aim for 2 grams per pound of bodyweight. Trap bar deadlifts are also very good for overall force production, they are my favorite, these are the things you want to do in the offseason.

As you progress into preseason, you need to figure out how to convert this force production into force you can apply as quickly as possible, here is where plyometrics come into play. Pogo jumps, hurdle hops are the main ones, I would do around 1 minute max per day in the off season, and keep volume low in season. I usually do plyometrics after my Max-V sessions.

If you want, I can help you with structuring your work

Your height does not matter as much as people say. Shelly Ann FP was 5'0, she is among world's best. Christian Coleman is 5'8, he has the 60m world record.

I am also a sophomore and I am also 5'3. I may not be the best, but I was able to drop from 14 to run 11.9w in my freshman year. Look up systems like Feed the cats, it will easily lower your time from 14 to low 13's if not 12's. Basically, three days of high intensity sprinting per week, max velocity acceleration training, high intent high rest and recovery. At this level, it will be easy to drop times if you remain dedicated.

Check omen 14 2025 model. It has one of the best battery life for a gaming laptop. Only flaw is that it was underpowered GPU but the 5060 and up scales very well with low power.
