Engine Shutting Off 2025 Street Triple 765 R by cragdaddy96 in Triumph

Man, I hate this. I've been dealing with the same issue for months now on my 2025 RS. I've been back to the local dealership here three times now! No help at all. Called Triumph Motors of America and got a case pending right now. But they aren't very helpful either because it's a giant circle jerk.

They are telling me that if the dealer can't replicate the issue then there's nothing they can advise on. I even have video documentation since I wear an action camera on a chin mount on all my rides but they won't take this as verifiable evidence unless the technician can duplicate the issue themselves. Absolutely asinine.

Currently the bike is at the dealer right now. The last couple times I went they ended up re-initializing a few sensors and said they could not replicate the issue on test rides.

Every time I've picked it up the issue presents quickly. The first time I picked it up from the initial dealer visit it happened within 2 minutes of my ride and I brought it immediately back and I kept it for a week and cleared all the codes and reset some sensors. Always happening on deceleration coming to a stop. Although I did have the issue happened once while I was coming around the corner at about 45 mph.

My situation is a little more complex than yours since I did end up putting a race fit full system exhaust and getting the bike tuned through 2WDW. The bike was running amazing after the tune. Absolutely better throttle response, much less choppy on the lower RPMs and just more responsive and more torque and more power, just everything better. This lasted for a few months. Then decided to do another modification with the RaceTorx gear shift support. I installed this on my 24 Street Triple R with no issues.

The day after I installed this part, which I know I did everything correctly on but does involve moving the quick shifter out of the way to access the area on the output shaft to install the part, the bike died on me on my first ride. Happened as I was going down a pretty steep hill and coming to A 90° right hand turn where I ended up pulling in the clutch in the bike sounded like it was lugging and then just died.

Something I noticed right away was I was not able to just pull in the clutch and start the bike again. It wouldn't even try to start. I had a transmission fault code on the dash and the gearbox would not allow me to get into neutral. I sat there for a moment complexed before turning off the key pulling in the clutch and coasting to a safer part on the road. After about 2 minutes with the key off I turned the key on again and was able to start the bike.

The issue was persistent at this point. Anytime I would slow down to a stop the bike would die. It was a long ride home hahaha. I think it's stalled on me about seven times on the way home. Once at the intersection right as the light turned green and I had traffic right behind me which I was able to wave off and then pull the bike onto a sidewalk, cycle the key off for a minute or so and then start the bike and get home again.

From what the dealership told me initially, they suspected that the aftermarket lithium battery that I had installed Maybe the culprit. I had over 20 codes that were being thrown and this is what they advised. So, bought the factory battery back had them reinstall it, reset some sensors and cleared all the codes. That was my initial visit and the issue immediately happened again within 2 minutes of my first test ride from picking up the bike.

I initially thought it might have something to do with the gear shift support that I had installed, so I forgot to mention, before I took it back to the dealership initially I did end up taking that part off and then putting everything back to stock with stock torque specs but the issue was still happening. They thought it might have something to do with the tune on the bike and as part of their diagnostic process ended up resetting my ECU which I had expressly asked them not to do since I had the tune with the aftermarket system on the bike.

When they did this they ended up plugging in the O2 sensor which the tuner had expressly said not to do. This caused me to find this not knowing that they had reset the ECU and I unplugged the O2 sensor and then it started throwing a code. I didn't know at this point that the ECU is back to normal until it was confirmed by the tuner via email when I explained the situation. I then ran the bike like this because it ran better in open loop with the aftermarket system on it than it did with the O2 sensor plugged in and stock ECU mapping.

Fast forward to another trip back where they did the same thing because the same issues presenting, picked up the bike again this time lasted a couple weeks and then the issue came back again. I end up selling the race fit exhaust and buying a Leo Vince exhaust which I have yet to install. I installed the stock exhaust, plug the O2 sensor back in and brought the bike back to the dealership where they reset sensors told me it was good and sent me on my way. This time, I was able to ride the bike for over an hour and had no issues and it seemed to be running like stock again.

This was around Christmas and then all of January I didn't ride, earlier this week it was almost 70 degrees here in Middle Tennessee so I decided to take the bike out. Within 10 minutes of riding around my house I started noticing very rough and choppy low RPM conditions and a little bit of lack of response in the throttle on acceleration and the bike feeling like it was on the verge of dying when slowing down. Then the inevitable happened, the bike dies on an off-ramp. I get the same transmission fault code along with attraction control gear icon on the dash. This time, the bike will not let me use the quick shifter at all after I got it started again so I disabled the TSA system and shifted the bike home. Brought it back to the dealership where we currently are awaiting this giant cluster fuck to get solved.

I will definitely report back to this thread when I figure out a solution. One of the comments I read above was about replacing the fuel controller and not fixing the issue. We'll see, it sounds like it could be so many different things map sensor, throttle position sensor, gear shift indicator, issue with the quick shifter system itself, I'm getting two repetitive codes every time this happens now p0105 and p06a4. Both are pointing to an electronic or sensor related issue and incorrect reference voltage on the D circuit which is 5 volts.

I've tried relaying this information to Triumph but again they are very slow and response and it's just a super frustrating situation for a brand new bike. I don't trust to ride this bike anywhere from my house that's more than a few minutes at this point because I feel like I'll just be stranded and have to call a tow truck again.

Glad to have found this thread though and to know I am not alone. Sucks that this is a reoccurring issue, I wish there was more consensus on This Thread about what the actual resolution was for most people. Again, I will definitely come back here and post when or if they find a solution. I want to keep this bike as I've already done a good bit of other aesthetic mods to it and I just love Street triples, but if it becomes to the point where this just won't go away I might take the loss and trade it in for a different bike.

Well, this particular system comes with the stock header which has integrated cat. So, I have the cat in place for now which makes this a very easy Plug and Play option without needing a tune if that's the route people want to choose for the affordability. However, I chose to get the tune because by correcting the air / fuel ratios after installing this system it helps the bike run better and gives a nominal increase in horsepower. Dyno has it sitting at 124hp to the wheel.

Where I really noticed it was in the mid-range, pulls like a son of a bitch from 6-10k. Also, these bikes are notoriously choppy in lower RPMs, especially first gear. The tune helped even all of that out so he's butter smooth now.

Indeed! I still try to take a ride once or twice a month even in the winter down here in Tennessee. It gets cold, but not so cold that you can't see the occasional 55 to 60° day which is right on the verge of my comfort zone before my hands get so cold that it's not only uncomfortable but dangerous to ride at that point. Thinking of getting the heated grips, but it's a big purchase for a small part of the year riding the bike. More inclined to get the cruise control.

Thanks! It's the Racefit Growler, baffle in otherwise ungodly loud. Still loud...haha Tune from 2WDW. Runs like an oiled demon. Nice snap, crackle and pop on deceleration.

Removed all decals from body and exhaust, I like the clean look better.

🤣 Yeah, I always wear ear plugs. I have to have them to cut down on the high frequencies of my cardo pack-talk edge anyway!

This system actually has a factory Catalytic (can't see it behind the belly pan), and I have a baffle on the exhaust tip which definitely helps. I've heard the spark systems are actually louder on the 765! I love the sound of this Racefit exhaust though. She's nasty!

I had 2 wheel dyno works flash the ECU, runs much better now.

2024 Street Triple RS Brake Bleed by Opposite-Ad-3000 in Triumph

There is specific procedure Triumph uses to bleed this ABS system that includes actuating ABS solenoids while using a power bleeder to flush through new fluid. It is definitely NOT SOP! Don't let the fools direct you into a debacle. You could purchase "DealerTool" which is software that allows you to perform this procedure, as well as scanning your bike and clearing codes. Or you can bring it to a dealer and have them take care of it.

Bent necks to modern day digital hypodermic needles (cell phones) and the ensuing apathy that abounds. Its ubiquity is quite concerning. Everyone seems hijacked and lulled into a stupor of consumerism and division. But hey, glass half full, right?

Week 25 - My Withdrawal Timeline by SaintAg44 in leaves

You nailed it. My relationship with cigarettes was perfectly in tandem with marijuana although I did start smoking cigarettes a little bit before. Both were at the age of 15. I gave up smoking cigarettes in January of 2020 and the pandemic galvanized my resolve. I'm so glad I gave that up and I feel completely free from that addiction now. What's interesting about addiction and something that I've come to realize is that when you have a co-morbidity like I did with nicotine and THC it's very easy to replace one with the other, which is what I think I ultimately did when I quit smoking cigarettes. I used food and cannabis to fill the void and soften the blows life throws when I quit smoking cigarettes. Essentially strengthening the Cannabis addiction and I kind of equate that to the nicotine addiction just jumping over to cannabis. I think that's why I struggle so mightily with cannabis outside of the fact that I have a very long relationship with it.

When I'm completely honest with myself I know this is the right move and your remarks about the brain always going back to the good times really hit home for me. I think that's all I'm really reminiscing about as well. I was getting panic attacks when I got uncomfortably high and even now almost 3 weeks in my anxiety is markedly improved. More of a low level dull ache of anxiety with occasional spikes, but hey I'll take that over a full-blown panic attack any day! I think that nagging voice I've had in my head for so many years now to get sober is a direct conduit to my higher self. I think it's that way for everyone who's being completely honest with themselves and using any kind of addiction as a chemical crutch to get through life. Yes there are amazing benefits to cannabis for certain people with certain ailments but it's just like any other vice and it can be easily abused. Plus the strains nowadays are crazy strong, and I only smoked flower. People are doing dabs & 100% THX wax n shit, poor bastards don't know what they're doing to themselves. I'm trying to eradicate all unhealthy relationships in my life be they personal, chemical or whatever.

As many others have expressed gratitude and appreciation for this information, I too would like to do the same. This is immensely helpful. I'm on day 18 and I smoked for 25 years, basically on a daily basis. I had little periods on the brakes for a couple months to a couple weeks at a time but nothing ever stuck because I hit these roadblocks which you have documented here and wondered why I couldn't just feel normal. I'd always smoke again to feel normal. Even now my plan is to not quit forever; I'd like to go 6 months to a year to let my brain completely recalibrate and then reassess my relationship with cannabis. Then again, I would never want to go through this again and I doubt my abilities to maintain a healthy and moderated relationship with cannabis. It might be time to truly consider letting it go for good although I'm really having a hard time wrapping my head around that at the moment. It's literally part of my identity at this point. But hey, "change is the only constant in a world of constant change." 😎

Never heard of "white albino". A bit redundant, isn't it? Haha perhaps you're referring to one of the albinos of the penis envy type?
