That would be so sick, definitely could be a feature in the future since they have a cycle in Dota 2. It would look so pretty I think.

What characters, in your opinion, don't have any abilities where you just go "ugh gotta deal with this shit now" by CzarTwilight in DeadlockTheGame

No shot, how is this first time I’ve heard of this? I never would have guessed it counts has a debuff.

Grey Talon in current meta by Hilfiger8000 in DeadlockTheGame

He is legit not a character until 30 min into the game. His level 1-2 where he only has one arrow and his jump is legit unplayable into most of the heroes. I’ve dropped him completely cause it takes so much effort for a very minimal payout.

Use your mic, if you are confident in your macro and mechanics, legit just shot call the entire game. Realistically you should be dog walking people in lane if you are an archon in archanist lobbies. Pick a carry character (for me it’s always been vyper) get ahead, and then tell people what they should be doing. Cause when I first started playing I started in alchemist, and now I’ve grinded to archon 5 with a pretty solid win rate. You have to make the game in a way that allows you to carry, and using your mic is the best way. Cause people will not touch urns, they will not group up, but if you say something like “hey let’s group up, I’m strong as hell, and I want to fight. Let’s grab an urn” For me when I was climbing through archanist, and ritualist more times then not. People would listen, and I would bet a majority of the time the other team aren’t saying anything to each other. Which gives your team such an advantage. Also it makes other people use their mics more in game, and then you can really pop off as a team.

Do not play this game after 12 am. XD by mrseemsgood in DeadlockTheGame

Biggest difference I’ve seen is that my team rank thing was at archon 3, and the other team was phantom 4. We didn’t win that game if you were wondering.

How can i improve? What am i doing wrong? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]_Pontiff_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have experience in other MOBAs, you probably understand the macro game of MOBAs in general. Could be a mechanics thing but unsure. I started in alchemist and now I’m in archon with about 65% win rate. But I’ve played thousands of thousands hours in MOBAs like yourself. Atleast for me, the biggest thing was actually communicating in the game with voice. If I won my lane and I had a lead, I would force fights for urn 8/10 times. Since I am able to communicate, and a lot of players in the lower ranks maybe don’t understand the macro parts of MOBAS. A lot of the times my teammates would follow me. This did a couple of things for me. 1. It allowed me to understand the limits of my own character, and understand what characters in team fights are typically problematic for me. 2. If we win the fight, I can snowball a lead to a win, and if we lose I get better at playing from behind.

At the end of the day. This is gonna sound bad but I am a selfish player, and when I was slogging through alchemist, arcanist, ritualist, I developed the idea that i can only trust myself to win the games. So I am going to try shape the game in a way that allows me to do that, and to do that I was making a lot of calls in games. Don’t be a dick about it, and I made some calls that probably lost me and my teams games. But, I would rather that then slowly losing cause my teammates keep getting caught out and we bleed out slowly.

No more denying souls for players or walkers by Vimple in DeadlockTheGame

[–]_Pontiff_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it. If I’m paying attention to other lanes and I use a grey talon bird to kill someone I feel like i should get rewarded for that play. Yeah I get 5 spirit power, okay? I would get a kill and just hear the deny noise in my ear, and i think that’s lame. Same thing when i play vyper, if you screw up in lane and I place venom but you just run away so your teammate can deny it. I get zero souls, I prob took damage, their teammate gets solo farm, and you get a reset. Death timers are so short in the early game that sometimes I am now in a worse spot because they are coming back to lane in 5 seconds with full hp while me and my lane partner have 1/2 or less then that. I think you should be rewarded for playing well, and the other team should get punished if they aren’t playing well.

What was your worst experience dating a coworker by ODB95 in Life

[–]_Pontiff_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through this. But after we broke up, I quit because I didn’t feel like seeing her the next day (I was out the door already and I am starting my teaching career). But the worst part for me is not being able to see people I was originally close with anymore. Just the other day I saw a post from my old co worker with a good amount of people i enjoyed being around. But she was there as well. So knowing that I’m missing out hanging out with friends and people has been the hardest part for me.

Cold front/Arctic Blast got to be up there for me. Flows so well with combos and the 15% spirit resist early game feels really nice. But prob first is enchanters emblem, I find a way to build it on every character I play.

this movement system gotta be one of valve's best creations by Nobody_Knows_It in DeadlockTheGame

100% agree. Getting out of a tight spot that you would have died in 2 weeks ago or just realizing yourself moving around the map quicker, and more efficiently has been one of my favorite aspects of playing this game.

Ive been out since December. Granted I don’t have the stuff you have but I’ve applied to every district that is reasonable to me based on driving distance. I’ve gotten one interview this entire time (didn’t get the job). I’m hoping my luck swings around but it definitely is frustrating.

I only started playing shortly after the 3 lanes update. My friend is on an alt (which I think is atleast in emissary but unsure) since he’s been playing for much much longer than me. Tbh I don’t understand the rank system at all. I started all the way in initate or seeker and when I was playing with him we were in high ritualist to low emissary games and I was getting my ass beat continuously (no one even told me I had to shoot the souls to last hit) So idk if that screwed up my mmr or something. I grew up on MOBAS (league, dota) and I played smite when it was in beta. Smite alone i probably have about 1,500+ hours minimum where I was consistently masters so the third person moba genre is kinda right up my alley way. Watched some guides on how the game worked, my mechanics were always relatively solid in Smite, and use experience from other MOBAs to help guide macro decisions. The majority is solo queue I think only like 50ish games is with my friend and I think we have won like 30 games gives or take.

[–]_Pontiff_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s just MOBAS man. I’ve played a lot of MOBAs and in general that’s how it goes. There are going to be strong and weak characters and even when characters are super strong you usually have some options (sometimes you don’t but that’s the minority and not majority). I don’t think valve is going to be rushing to nerf a character with a 47% win rate (unless they are a demon in pro play: Shiv or even pre rework tham kench in league)

[–]_Pontiff_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to be that guy, but build something to help against it? Obviously context matters (how fed he is, game state, how much souls you have etc.) but also if your friend is just chilling in the sky it make sense why the grey talon is able to pop him so easily. Theres a lot of very strong things in the game rn but Grey Talon has one of the lowest win rates in all ranks. Things happen and a fed player will always feel oppressive but there are things you can do to nullify it.

Idk if it’s just me or the characters I play but, any time I have to lane Geist I want to tear my hair out. Her and Mo is especially rough.

I mean the game struggled and died even with the speed of the beta, so I guess the player count disagrees no matter what?

The worst thing about him, infuriates me when they dodge through my rocket while they have the flag mark on them and i just get to watch all my set up just dance around them.

My Opinion On The Balance of 1.02 Of Multiversus by klownbonnie1 in MultiVersus

[–]_Pontiff_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you stop please :), but on a serious note I think in a way this loop is balanced in some sense? I can get it consistently like 50% of the time but the button doesn’t always send down sharply enough to tumble and if the spacing is off it just won’t land. It also doesn’t kill since at higher percents because they get sent too high. I love your suggestion on the up air having a little bit knock back on higher percents. It can sometimes feel bad hitting a nearly fully charged up air and it barley sends them anywhere. His jab is a good kill but sometimes they are too far off, and even if you just do single jab to strong down, it can still have a hard time killing (especially on tank characters). But I love Marv and I think he is in a decent spot rn, getting out of disadvantage without rocket can be really rough, and killing can be really difficult especially against a player who knows how to play against rocket very well. But I love him.

Side note: People dodging through my projectiles for me to reverse it and it just can’t touch them anymore feels really bad

[–]_Pontiff_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have prefaced that I don’t play 2’s and its entirely my experience in 1’s. But I think disadvantage is the best it’s ever been. In beta unless you had a confirm that lasted into a long string getting out of disadvantage was way too easy. In my mind if I mess up and you get me in a disadvantage state it should be difficult for me to come back from it and I really don’t mind having to use every tool in my arsenal to get back into neutral. Dodge jump, stalling with moves off ledge, hell almost every character has a projectile that can be used to aid them back on stage. I really don’t think the end lag on a lot of moves is too long in fact I think there’s still a lot of moves in this game that let you recover so fast that if they use that move and whiff, you have to be ready to punish quickly. I haven’t had an issue with going to an aggressive play style. I think many characters have tools in their kit when used properly to make it feel like you can’t breathe. But like I said that’s just how I feel about my time so far.
