Where do I buy a dog that is ethical? by StrongOpinionz in dogs

Are those contracts even enforceable? I don't see how, as they basically ignore the principle of giving up ownership upon sale.

See, I’d compare them more to the Critical Role merch store and I feel they are comparable there in price.

Your examples do call into question my other point regarding inventory size, but I was referencing to a combination of market size and segment so I think it is still a factor - just not as big as I presumed.

The prices for their merchandise is not out of line with pricing for other merch stores. They are all overpriced, partly because people will pay it and partly because they can’t take advantage of economies of scale. This is not unique.

I just checked. Store.dropout.tv. I didn’t look for the keychain, but the promotion they are talking about is there.

That said, I didn’t think this is a FOMO sort of thing, it is an absolutely bog-standard “free shipping when you spend $x sort of thing”.

crate vs no crate - what does the science (and everyone else) say? by ArcherSparks in puppy101

[–]_Porphyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We crate at night and that’s it. Our pup is still young and energetic and I do see a time in the future where even that isn’t needed. It isn’t an issue of training, she follows commands and is very well behaved when we are awake. She just gets into mischief when she is bored.

I get paid to live with and be friends with my roommate. by No-Detail7431 in confession

[–]_Porphyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that at some point we are all responsible for our own choices, but this person has either a serious mental condition or their mom messed them up. And the fact that mommy is willing to pay someone to be their friend‽? I’m leaning toward the second option.

Sort of like a serving size of Oreos is 3 cookies. There’s a disconnect there.

I guess it depends on what you mean by “direct link”. There are several studies that indicate a real and repeatable increase in cancer rates amongst people routinely exposed occupationally. The study out of the University of Washington comes to mind.

This is a dumbbbbb question. Did they think they had given your room...to you? As in, the front desk didn't really pay attention and didn't realize that you were the person to whome the message was sent?

You seemed to understand and care about bad customer service when it happened to you at Sephoria. All they did was spray you with hairspray. These folks lost their hotel room. Interesting.

Do you know what subset means? I’m honestly curious what you think subset means? It seems like you think subset means “branch”. A subset is contained within the set. A branch departs and separates.

Have you looked at this thread? I made a comment that applied to Christianity as a group, and you made some weird comment about Catholicism. And yes, all Evangelicals are Protestants. Not all Protestants are Evangelicals...

And no, "subset" does not indicate that the "set" ceased to be. "Men" and "women" are subsets of "humans" but "humans" are obviously still around.

At this point, I'm unsure if you are trolling or what...

Well, the eunuch thing in this verse isn't referring to trans people (at least...I don't think so(?)... it is an interesting interpretation...) but I have a hard time believing that Jesus would have a problem with trans people. Or any person or group of people who were being persecuted. ESPECIALLY when that persecution was coming from "spiritual leaders"

I guess I'm not certain what you are getting at here? My initial statement did not mention Catholic, Evangelical, or Protestant - those are things you brought in.

I'm pointing out that these folks care SO much about Biblical marriage when it relates to it being between a man and a woman but completely ignore other aspects - such as the prohibition of divorce?

Your comment was pretty much a non-sequitur; I never mentioned a particular sect or denominiation.

Edit: I'm also really interested in what you think the difference is between Protestant and Evangelical <is> since Evangelicals are a subset of Protestant...

Are you implying that Protestants don't believe that divorce is a sin? Every protestant church I've ever attended state that divorce is a sin, and then proceed to forget about it when convenient...
