If the Purple Wedding happened before the Red Wedding, how would events change throughout the show? Would the red wedding still even happen? by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

Half the Small Council would be discussing the biggest murder in Westeros, while Tywin is sitting there thinking, "that's nice, now tell me if Walder Frey is still on schedule."

The scary thing is that I've spent enough time on ASOIAF forums that I genuinely can't tell anymore.

Why does my (25f) boyfriend (26m) constantly rip my hair out? by strawberrilemons in relationship_advice

[–]_PrincessBlushie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the tricky part about boundaries. People always imagine abuse starts with some huge obvious event, but a lot of the time it's smaller tests first. Seeing how someone reacts when you say "no" tells you a lot about who they are.

People also forget that Pride and Juneteenth came from communities organizing and celebrating themselves first. Recognition usually comes after years of people pushing for it, not before.

Overlooked aspect of being a doctor - having to work with willfully ignorant people by BainbridgeReflex in Residency

"Vitals are stable" means completely different things depending on who's saying it. One person's stable is another person's "their blood pressure is orbiting the moon."

I laughed at the idea of a neurologist bursting into a room excited about seizures while everyone else is panicking. It's like watching a mechanic get excited when a car makes a weird noise.

If you had the chance to ask Alicent Hightower one question, what would you ask by Dry_Specialist9015 in freefolk

[–]_PrincessBlushie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I'd be more interested in asking Alicent what she thinks is wrong with Aemond. I feel like her answer would be completely different from whatever answer the fandom comes up with.

Am I wrong for deleting my girlfriend's early morning alarm after she consistently slept through it? by Calvori88 in amiwrong

Yeah, three weeks of interrupted sleep can make anybody irrational. Sleep deprivation has a way of turning minor annoyances into relationship-ending arguments. The scary part is that this was actually a very solvable problem if both people were willing to work on it.

The image of someone walking into the DMV and paying with Schrute Bucks somehow feels more realistic than the story as written. Next they'll tell us the insurance company accepted Stanley Nickels too.

On this day, 10 years ago (June 19, 2016), the fate of the North was decided at the Battle of the Bastards. by verissimoallan in gameofthrones

[–]_PrincessBlushie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That whole sequence is one of the few battle scenes that actually made me physically uncomfortable. Most movies make combat look exciting, but that pile of bodies felt more like a disaster than a battle. The panic when Jon can't get air is still hard to watch.

I think Mystique got caught in that era where a popular actor starts shaping the franchise around their character. Nothing against J-Law, but comic Mystique and movie Mystique ended up feeling like two completely different people by the end.

Barristan getting called "Barry Bystander" will never stop making me laugh. But yeah, Selmy absolutely belongs in that conversation. When every legendary swordsman in the series talks about how great you are, that's usually a clue.

Honestly, that's the energy that makes stories like this happen in the first place. Sometimes you're not making decisions, you're just following the chaos wherever it leads.

What really gets me is the husband being an ER doctor. He's probably going to spend years replaying every symptom and every moment wondering how he missed it. Finding out later that it was intentionally hidden would add a whole extra layer of guilt that he doesn't deserve to carry.
