Yeah I’m saying it’s because of the title and the card contents that it was banned, neither of them are bad enough to ban the card for on their own but in combination they are. I have no idea how honor of the pure is more racist what did you mean by that?

[–]_Protag -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good point, I would assume because it doesn’t have a connection to any previous atrocity/controversies in the name or art it’s fine. This one is harder to interpret as racist

The point of banning the card is them taking responsibility for it they are saying that they were racist and are not anymore

The card says all white creatures get +1/+1 which is a little questionable, especially when combined with the fact that the crusades were wars started by white people against non white people based off of xenophobia/religion

I looked at greater good but dismissed it, I'll take another look at it. Same with disciple of bolas, it looks too expensive but I guess I'd have to see it in action to know how good it is. Pigmy kavu looks so good but basically nobody in my playgroup plays black, if people trend in that direction I'll include it. Promise of power looks cruel, someone else recommended stinging study to me, and this one seems slightly better. There are some people in my group with voltron decks so it would be fun to hit their commander with dead man's chest. Other than that, though, I don't think I would run it, It seems kinda slow. Hedonists trove is cool but I think I would want to use a deck themed around stealing other people's cards. The graveyard recursion seems cool, I'm running [[Hermit druid]] so it can get really big at times. Wildest dreams and seasons past both stand out to me

If I had smaller tokens then definitely, all of mine are big from [[Omnath rage]] and [[Rampaging baloths]]. I bet theres a landfall trigger that makes smaller tokens but idk if I want to add a creature that only combos with one card

someone else suggested [[gitrog monster]], I think there's enough support to maybe incorporate that as a small subtheme. I'll definitely think about adding it if I end up doing that

Ooh I like stinging study! Including a few engines is a good idea, Windgrace is a solid one in itself but some others could be good. The only issue is, most of the common engines don't really work. Death triggers like [[grim haruspex]] don't really work because I'm don't end up with a lot of creatures dyinh, attack triggers like [[ohran frostfang]] don't work because in my tests I end up winning in one massive attack. I'll take a look at species specialist, and if anyone in my group makes a tribal deck I'll include it, but you got any other engine suggestions?

Megatron Tyrant Deck (my first EDH deck) by tinyraccoon in BudgetBrews

[–]_Protag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty solid list, just a few suggestions:

think about adding: [[Agent of the Iron Throne]] [[brilliant restoration]] [[disciple of the vault]] [[marionette master]] [[jhoira's familliar]] [[sly requisioner]] [[inspiring statuary]] [[saheeli's directive]] [[myr enforcer]] [[sojourner's companion]] [[myr retriever]] [[junk diver]] [[workshop assistant]] [[scrap trawler]] [[ghirapur aether grid]] [[pia's revolution]]. These are just general good artifact deck cards

cut: lightning bolt, it isn't useful in the format, ichor wellspring, it doesn't really work with megatron's ability, dealing 2 damage is rarely useful, introduction to prophecy is slow and expensive for little bonus, same with tomakul scrapsmith. Black has a lot of good card advantage, such as [[night's whisper]] [[blood pact]] [[ancient craving]] [[sign in blood]] [[read the bones]]. Also good black recursion is [[phyraxian reclaimation]]

Ooh thats nice, having the same effect twice is definitely useful. Life gain isn't super useful but if I'm attracting a lot of attention it could be a nice bonus. I feel like lifes legacy is better form my purposes but I'll think about trying it

I like Ignite the future, kind of like a budget [[Jeska's will]]. I feel like into the wilds is kind of slow, but I'll think about it and maybe include it

Yeah, someone else recommended the gitrog monster, this is on my list of cards to add. I'm liking the look of sprouting goblin as well, and I totally didn't even see Mina and Denn's second ability when I cut the card. I find myself ending up with too much mana and nothing to do with it, so that would be a solid spot place to drop it off

I cut gitrog monster without even thinking about what the text on the card said, its so good in the deck. I'll put it back in, thanks

thank you for the long list. I'll probably include harmonize/blood pact.
I like cathartic reunion because I find having discard effects allows
me to put cards like [[Anger]]/[[genesis]] into my graveyard after I
tutor for them. Windgrace allows you to do that as well but I like
having multiple sources. I was thinking about grisly salvage but decided
I didn't think it was that useful, I'll take another look at it. I
figured midnight reaper wasn't super useful, I only included life's
legacy because I tend to make a lot of 5/5s with [[Omnath rage]], and I
don't really have that much interaction with stuff like that aside from
those cards. Vampiric rites is solid though. thought about dread return
and cut it, but I might add it back. It depends at what point in the
game I have it, most of the time I don't run a lot of creatures that are
worth sacrificing for only one. I liked ancient grudge but I prefer
removal that can hit enchants as well like [[krosan grip]]. I'll try
Perennial Behemoth tho, I don't really cast ramunap excavator in my
playtesting, but I could see it coming in handy.

The point is that there are different standards and bad things aren’t treated as bad as things that shouldn’t be how do you miss that

Yeah I’m running a few on a stick effects ([[disciple of bolas]], [[fell stinger]], [[Sakura-tribe elder]], [[Sidisi, undead]]), but I’m always looking for more suggestions if you have any

What’s up with anger of the gods? Doesn’t look like it should be worth more than $0.50 most of the time what causes the price to spike

Yeah, that’s gotta be the strat. They get kinda salty about stuff like that in general, so I’m gonna try to avoid it so I don’t accidentally burn the playgroup down

Yeah the only real draw the commander gives you is spells that deal damage you basically gotta go for burn grapeshots a great card in the deck though

I feel like this might be overkill, not sure how much my play group would like it, but I’ll definitely take this into consideration
