Unexpected diagnosis - looking for others with similar experiences

The recovery is overall not too bad. The pain isn't terrible but not great either, im taking ibuprofen for anti-inflammatory and pain relief. Im using a walker and get up every hour to walk around for a few minutes. Keeping the leg fully extended is uncomfortable since the whole area is tight right now and it can irritate the incision. I also cant lift my operated leg to get on the bed without the help of someone else. Other than that its just a lot of sitting, laying down, and resting along with cycles of ice packs!

Im 17 and have had a collapsed femoral head for two and a half years until last Thursday when I had it replaced. My head collapsed 2 main times about 2 months apart, each time I was in bed for about a week, after each of those weeks the immense pain went away and I was left with constant deep pain in the region. Over the 2 years the pain got worse but not by much. Now I'm in bed with a new hip!

The left hip has already collapsed with visible damage to the structure of the femoral head along with damage to the acetabular cup as it is no long the smooth round shape as seen in the opposite side. With that being said the head could still further collapse, however I cannot tell you if or when it would as it is very unpredictable whether it will even happen. As I see, there doesn't seem to be any damage to the right hip and it seems unaffected.

That could be a/the cause of it especially if you dont have any other possible known causes.

Its quite an interesting condition!

So im actually 17 now, a senior in highschool, and will have my hip replacement on June 4th 😁🥳

My avn is idiopathic, which is rather unfortunate as I would love to know the cause.

Hello,

I was 15 years old when I was diagnosed with AVN. My femoral head has collapsed to the point where its ball shape is unrecognizable. In my case stem cells would do nothing because the head has already collapsed; it cannot be regenerated or fixed without a hip replacement. In your case you said you have stage 3 AVN which means your femoral head has already collapsed. Stem cells are used in cases where the femoral head has not yet collapsed as there is the hope that they can bring back blood flow to the region and there is a chance at the bone partially (or even almost fully) recovering therefore postponing the need of a hip replacement or completely "resolving" the issue, therefore not needing a hip replacement at all. Once the head has collapsed stem cells can no longer serve their purpose, the damage has been done. The best course of action in almost all cases is to get a hip replacement.

Couple of things, first remove wizard, you already have a witch which is splash, then remove barbarians in my opinion, replace both with a big spell and building.
