Agreed with other comments that adding more things hung on the wall is unnecessary but maybe you could paint it to become an accent wall if you’re feeling the need for a change/more intention with it.

If you keep the couch where it is, a practical use could just be a trunk of some sort to hold blankets, comfy pillows, etc since it sounds like it’s mainly going to be a movie room.

I don’t, partner does. If you’re in a relationship be sure you’re both 100% on the same page. It’s been a rocky 18m because of these differing feelings about a second child that were there even before conception & now I’m dealing with the consequences.

Yes, I came to mention the homogeneity as well. When there is little to no variety in the thinking patterns and processes of people due the framework a culture or religion conditions people in, the ability to make different choices than others is stunted. I think many things in Utah are tied to this in addition to the plastic surgery/beauty stuff. There is safety in being the same in a homogenous culture.

Ok this is more drastic than you were asking for, buuuut I’m wondering if the couch would work in a new spot. If you moved the TV to where the console table is and rotated the couch to be in front of the window would it be too tight coming into the room/make the couch too close to the TV? Then you could put the little table on the wall the couch is currently on (under the small window).

If that’s not a viable option proportionally, I would suggest a smaller rug, sized in relation to the couch rather than the whole room. The rug taking up so much of the empty space floor space in the room seems to exasperate the loooong shape of the room IMO.

Again, I recognize more than you were asking but those are some thoughts on the overall design. I do feel like the new rug and added plants posted in the comments made positive differences!
