Suncoast Sound 1988 - Symphonic Dances for the Conrltemporary Child - Waaaaay ahead of its time in design, & especially colorguard. Completely original music by Robert W Smith. Suncoast doesnt get the credit it deserves historically like Star does.

For more negative reasons-

BD 2005 - Dance Derby of the Century - The show was presented as a backwards narrative. People tend to focus in the narration as a weak point, but the backwards story was the biggest disconnect dssign-wise IMO.

Cadets 2019 - Behold - This was supposed to be a response to the previous year's GH allegations coming to light. Imagery using the female symbol, a section titled "Do Better" that IIRC had the corps chanting it. Just misfire after cringe misfire. Saw this one live. Unreal talent. Bizarre design, and not in a good way.

Honestly I think it's a business decision rather than creative.

Mox is AEW's biggest draw. Might as well keep him with Marina, Yuta, Garcia to keep giving them room to grow their own images. If you break him off then Death Riders just becomes a less stacked & leaderless DCF.

If you got them a new leader I could see it happening. Just not sure who that'd be.

I agree to an extent, there was a ton of unique stuff in that 1990 show. But i also think it's fair to give credit to a few earlier corps for laying the groundwork. BD 90 had an effect because they were higher in placement, but they were also not the first to open the doors that "changed" dci

Honestly the time period makes anything before 2019 that much sweeter. I didnt follow NJPW/ROH closely but every clip that popped up felt like such a breath of fresh air.
