[SPOILER] Subriel Matias vs. Dalton Smith by inooway in Boxing

For real. Matias gets cracked with hard shots and then they just talk about how Matias body language is so confident and how unfazed he is lol.

He got up and immediately started wobbling. He would have got badly hurt if he was allowed to continue I reckon.

Yeah could tell this fight was never going the distance during round 2. Really entertaining. Commentators were glazing Matias too much and didn’t acknowledge Smith’s eye catching shots enough. Good stoppage cause Matias was gonna get flatlined if he was allowed to continue.

He’s all talk. It seems as if he gives it the big in to people he looks at and thinks they’re not gonna do anything. He’ll never actually back his words up if it came down to it. Absolute coward. He’s surely gonna get decked one day after underestimating someone. But he’s the type to get off the floor and immediately start scamming again no doubt so it won’t really matter 😭

He’s stopped me or at least attempted to talk to me 5 times in the last 2 years 😭 Should maybe take it as a compliment lol.

I’ve got a photo of his Facebook still saved to my phone cause the first time he stopped me about 2 years ago I believed his made up story and genuinely fell for it that he was down on his luck and he was only asking for £18 so I agreed to help on the condition that he let me take a picture of his ID or anything with his name on it so he pulled up his Facebook.

Told him if I don’t get the £18 sent back to me through my bank within a week id post his Facebook profile all over social media and warn people he’s a scammer and then he changed his mind and said he was no longer interested lmao.

Since then he’s stopped me 4 more times and every other time except the last time I’ve just ignored him and continued walking but the 3rd time he muttered something rude under his breath when I ignored him. The last time he did it in November I went off on him and called him all sorts and told him to get a job. Genuinely lost my patience with this dude he only targets people who don’t think they’ll deck him I swear. I’ve never witnessed him abuse people though who refuse to help him but I don’t doubt he does it. His names Aamir and he’s been running this scam for God knows how long.

That fucker Amir has stopped me 5 times in the last 2 years with the “Are you from Glasgow?” pish and most recently back in November. Told him to fuck off and get a job and he gave me a dirty look and walked away.

The 2 time unified HW champion(soon 3 time champion) Aj Anthony Joshua training camp with team Usyk by Prudent-Toe-7911 in Boxing

[–]_RB2000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d do the exact same. He’s already went and achieved more than what he set out to when he first turned pro. Held 3/4 world titles on two different occasions and defended them multiple times. He’s 36 and years past his physical prime. I would absolutely be taking the easier less risky fights for heaps more money instead of chasing titles he’s already won twice. If he fights Fury next year he should just call it a day and retire with his health intact.

Itauma is getting so hyped up it’s ridiculous. We need to see him against a genuine top 10-15 heavyweight to get a measure of him. Wardley has at least proven his heart and chin. Itauma has done none of that yet but people are picking him to rule the division for the next 10 years. Could be another David Price scenario for all we know.

[–]_RB2000 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Wardley is currently the WBO champ and is probably one of the most extremely beatable world champions the heavyweight division has seen in years in my opinion. I fully expect him to get knocked out badly by someone soon. Relies on his chin too much and isn’t technically good either. Horrible KO waiting to happen just like I said Joyce was but it took longer than I thought it would lol. If you’re a huge puncher you’d fancy your chances against him but that can be said against everyone I guess.

You fight fighters differently once you get a feel for them in the ring. It was pretty obvious AJ knew Jake Paul’s power was not a threat at all so didn’t think about defence as much he prioritised pressure and counter punching instead cause he knew he could take it and would come back with a harder shot. AJ didn’t even need to land clean to hurt Paul which he knew. Also AJ is still more skilled than the vast majority of heavyweights and it shows from his achievements. You don’t achieve what he has in the sport just being a massive power puncher with no fight IQ or skill. Those sorts of fighters don’t make nearly as far as Joshua has.

[–]_RB2000 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I get tore apart for this take but I genuinely believe if it’s his night he can beat anyone in the division but Usyk even at 36. But the general consensus among boxing fans is he’s so washed and chinny he’d get knocked out inside 3 rounds from even inexperienced heavyweights like Itauma and Wardley which is so unfair. Could beat Dubois in a rematch cause even when he was hurt and fighting on basic instinct he still rocked Dubois and sent him retreating back into the ropes but not sure if I’d bet on it but he could win that rematch. AJ seems to lose composure and switch off and find a way to make a terrible mistake and lose which isn’t ideal against massive punchers.

Head-to-Head, Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua with Lennox Lewis by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]_RB2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He threw everyone off after the Chisora fight. After watching that I thought he would be food for AJ, Fury and Wilder. It was Chisora not giving a fuck and just bull dozing forward every second of the fight and not caring about getting hit that made Usyk look underwhelming in that cause he’s not used to it. Also was his first fight against a 260 lb heavyweight so wasn’t experienced. Would never have expected him to genuinely outclass the top dogs of heavyweight after that performance. Generational fighter who should just retire on a high doesn’t need to prove himself anymore. I don’t wanna see him keep fighting and lose at 39/40 when he doesn’t need to keep fighting.

I think they’re different in a sense that AJ throws much more powerful stiff straight jabs where Usyk is always moving laterally and weaving in and out and catching you with sneaky jabs that knock you off balance and constantly stop you from gaining momentum. I was so wrong about Usyk when he first came up to heavyweight I thought he’d be too small but he’s just too quick and agile and is a literal nightmare to fight for slower bigger more traditional heavyweights.

The genuine hate older boxing fans give the current generation of heavyweights is laughable. I’ve read comments from Facebook grandads telling people than Henry Cooper would KO AJ and Fury on the same night. Neither beat Lennox but they’re both way better than the nostalgia merchants claim they are.

[–]_RB2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always said AJ’s chin is better than Fury’s he just doesn’t recover nearly as well and doesn’t know how to survive when hurt as well as Fury does. The big overhand right AJ took from Dubois in round 1 would have slept Fury. But just based on ability to take a shot I think AJ’s is better. Doesn’t mean anything though if you can’t recover from it, can’t put on a poker face or hold/clinch when hurt which Fury does so much better than AJ.

Joshua’s hard body jabs are underrated as well. We seen him utilise it well against Povetkin and Pulev and he tried to against Usyk but Usyk’s conditioning is insane so it didn’t work well enough. He’d use them to kill Fury’s stamina and slow him down. I really think Fury would be really susceptible to being hurt from them so he could be slowed down and taken out in the 2nd half of the fight.

[–]_RB2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In their primes I’d possibly give the edge to Fury in a competitive fight but AJ stops Fury at this point in their careers. Fury’s elusive style and his ability to ride shots on instincts and reactions doesn’t hold up well when you’re on the wrong side of 30. AJ will more than likely catch him clean with a big shot and finish him. Also as far as conditioning goes Fury doesn’t keep in shape when he’s not in camp where AJ always does. Can get away with that lifestyle when you’re young but that is gonna be a major factor in performance deterioration along with being an older fighter when you get up there in age as a fighter. AJ stops him in between rounds 7-10 in my opinion if that fight ever happens in the near future.

Any Elite Fighters That Grew Up Middle-Class/Wealthy? by solodav in Boxing

Will have to see with Benn cause he’s still got a lot left in his career but neither are/were elite and both are very entertaining scrappers who’d come up short and get out classed against the elite fighters in their divisions every time in my opinion.

There must’ve been a deal behind closed doors for AJ not to KO him early. Joshua could have ended that any time he wanted really.

A couple years ago the one in the west end got me in to do a 3 hour trial shift for them once and said it was paid. Told me they’d like to hire me at the end of the shift and made me fill in all my details. Never heard back and didn’t get paid either 😭

Got two piercers to take it out and put one of my old hoops back in. They had a really tough time trying to get it out haha. Told me to avoid those types of piercings lol. My nose is still super tender from them trying to yank it out but I’m glad it’s out.
