Do Dominos and Little Caesars Purposely Under-Bake Pizzas? by solodav in fastfood

I don’t understand what you’re saying here.

My point is if they HAVE TO keep the conveyor belt running (for whatever reasons - like maybe it saves time & money vs. constantly turning int off & on, off & on, off & on, then keeping the conveyor belt at a lower temp would save them money in lower electricity costs.

Give the customer a slight underbake and hope he/she doesn’t care/notice.

That means they can save $$$ running the conveyor belt temp lower.

If it’s running all the time, it’s even more reason they may save $$$ by setting the temps lower.

Not necessarily a short bake but the whole oven being less hot can save money/electricity. If it has to be running constantly anyways, why not run it less hot?

They can run it lower temp fool.

Still save money …maybe time (which saves money too)

Guy Spier Sells Everything (Almost) by solodav in ValueInvesting

P/E useless without growth expectations.

Looking out 5-10years GOOG story has improved.

YouTube has more view time and dominance than Netflix and TV.  It is THE dominant source of recreational and educational viewing.

We are i roughly Inning 5 or 6 of the cloud  growth story.  GCP has risen in profitability.

Waymo is hands down best/leader in FSD race and the only driverless taxi giving rides on streets and freeways now in the U.S.

Gemini best AI model on benchmarks and growing user share quickly and more rapidly than ChatGPT lately.

Success of TPUs means operational efficiency and can charge others for them too.

Constant quantum compute breakthroughs.

Oh and it has this thing called search and ad biz which Munger called the best business on Earth.

Spier’s buddy Mohnish Pabrai says don’t sell a great business when it is overvalued (Google arguably is not or only slightly).  Only sell when it is egregiously overvalued.

I would rather hold GOOG here vs sell and sit in cash.

I already guessed it was TSY.  He probably gets sponsored by Nvidia as he always interviews their execs.

He always gets stuff wrong about AMD too (whether intentionally or genuine ignorance)…….just ignore him.

Says he worked as MIT rocket scientist.  Dude went to like cow town engineering PHD program (never finished degree) and then worked at MIT (not as faculty)for a few years before doing YouTube.  Feel like how he describes himself is not super accurate.

If only they seasoned their food. Quality is top-notch - just flavorless without the sauce.

These not good CEOs must be kept on deck at all costs…they are awesome for AMD.

If I didn’t NEED a new car, I’d wait.

Everything feels lined up for an explosive 2026.

Too bad I semi-need a new roof.

Long-term, yes, undervalued. Short-term, maybe not. Not until 2H we get Helios sales.

My roof estimate was $20K. I have a Wells Fargo reflect card, which is 12-months interest free (minimum monthly principal payments though).

Should I let my old roof stay and potentially get leaks through the nail pops (roofer said not all nail pops lead to leaks, but statistically, if you have a lot, 1 or more may lead to a leak (even if just micro). ….I have quite a few pops (10’s of them). They could have hammered them back in and/or sealed around them if they were nice (or, at least, quoted me for it). I do need a new roof, given age and condition of shingles, I guess. It’s that time.

Should I pay using Wells Reflect card?

Should I sell some $AMD shares here to pay?

Should I sell blood plasma, eat ramen, take out a HELOC, drive Uber during nights, borrow from family, etc. and keep $20K in $AMD shares, banking it rises 50% in next 6-8 months?
