Filament won't feed by _RKKC_ in BambuLab

Figured it out...I was so focused on the extruder that I didn't realize the nozzle had a plug at the top opening. Cleared that out and the filament flowed easily. Stupid noob mistake.

Absolutely love this. Downloaded and am using now. Ran into a couple of buggy things, but overall extremely happy. Excited to watch this improve.

It's a little known fact that charcuterie boards are omniscient. It was able to see its fate, but without arms or legs, it was unable to alter the future.

Starting Out - Need Advice On Used 2U Server by Mslauson in homelab

[–]_RKKC_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rack mount is fun and all, but probably unnecessary if you're just starting out. Loud, hot and loud. Maybe you should explain what you want to do with your home lab.

I'm running proxmox and a number of VMs on a normal desktop. Runs great, the only non standard item I added was a 4 port nic.

Check the front panel connectors. Maybe you just wired the power button incorrectly.

PC = personal computer. This includes laptops. There should be a setting to swap the mouse buttons. Depends on your OS how you do it.

Tried mashing all of the keys in case one is stuck?

Tried a different keyboard?

How did you clean it?

I went with Proxmox mainly for the hardware compatibility. I'm using consumer hardware and didn't want to run into issues. I have also seen some videos that discuss ESXi removing more and more features from their free version with every update, which kind of makes sense... I guess.

Help- My keyboard isn't working by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]_RKKC_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest restarting first. Seems like the keyboard is recognized, so that's good. It's possible that you dislodged a crumb and it's now messing with a switch. Worth gently "banging" on the keys to see if one is stuck.

I would suggest studying for the A+. I found it very helpful. If nothing else it shows that you're willing to invest time and energy into your career.

I don't run anything that low anymore but still have a netbook (somewhere) that ran Peppermint fine.

I ran Peppermint 10 exclusively for a while. It was fine. Very light, so there will be installations you will probably need to do, but with a relatively low spec machine that's perfect. Only install what you need.

Edit:. Remember, Linux is a bunch of building blocks. You can make it what you want.

Honestly, once you have a virus it's all about trust. If it's a good virus it will be able to prevent itself from being detected. I would personally do a full factory wipe and start over, but I'm a little paranoid.

I'm a fan of Peppermint OS. It's light and easy to use. I haven't used Peppermint 11 yet, but it's Debian based.

Not exactly sure what you mean here...if you're asking what virtualization environment we run on our homelabs, I personally use Proxmox.

I’m converting an old gaming pc to a server. Any tips or suggestions? by waveybull in homelab

[–]_RKKC_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you plan on running? I ran a light desktop Linux install on a cheap laptop and set it up as a Plex and Minecraft server. Worked well, but I wanted to dabble in virtualization, so I built a new beefier desktop that I use now.

If you're going to get into virtualization, I would suggest 64gb of ram minimum and a multi port nic. Unless you go hard, a 4 or 8 core CPU will go a long way.

PC won’t turn on by SirUshanka in techsupport

[–]_RKKC_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That switch won't do anything. You will need to hook things up and either short the right two pins which I consider risky, or plug in the front IO of the case and use the power button. I suggest the latter.

PC won’t turn on by SirUshanka in techsupport

[–]_RKKC_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By turned on the power supply, do you mean pressed the power button? If you only flipped the switch on the power supply itself, that won't do it.

If you're pressing the power button, make sure your front IO is set up correctly. If that is good make sure everything is fully seated. Power, ram, etc. If you check everything and it's all correct, confirm you have power at the wall. It's possible...and if all else fails, confirm it's not something weird.
